Ken Duckworth Prepares Line Caught Gloucester Cod on Taste of the Times

Click the picture to watch Ken Duckworth of Duckworth's Bistrot and Duckworth Beach Gourmet prepare a remarkably easy gourmet dish.

Ken explains that he does not just cook, he composes a meal based on contrasting flavors in order to fully engage your taste buds. Whenever possible he also uses ingredients that are from local waters and farms. In this recipe he utilizes a line caught cod from a Gloucester fisherman and makes a celery root puree similar to mashed potatoes.”]<a href=”http://food.gloucestertimes.com/?

2010 Season Opener was SOLD OUT with over 1,600 fans! With a season full of double-headers, we expect the same turnout for March.
Bout #1: Sees the Wicked Pissahs take on Season Three Champs the Nutcrackers. Fresh off 100-point victory over the Cosmonaughties, The Pissahs are hoping for a repeat. Will 2010 be another Year of the Nut, or can the two-time champion Pissahs bring back the championship … fo’ life?

Bout #2:The evening continues with an exciting rematch. The Boston vs. Carolina rivalry is so fierce, it was a nominee for best rivalry in Derby News Network’s Best of 2009 Reader Poll. With Carolina defeating Boston in two consecutive heartbreakers, Boston was able to avenge those losses with a crushing defeat at the 2009 WFTDA Eastern Regionals. Without a trip to Nationals, Carolina is well-rested and ready for revenge.

Half time show features live music and as always, the after party dance floor is open to all, with DJ John Barera spinning until midnight.

The Boston Derby Dames are Boston’s first and only all-female, DIY, skater-owned and operated flat track roller derby league and proud members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.

TigerFish 2010 Season Celebration

Click photo for more photos

It started with an email to Joey, which he forwarded to me asking to go over to Iron Rail and cover the GHS Gymnastics.  So I packed up my bag of camera goodies and went over to shoot a few photos. A whole bunch of photos later the 2010 season came to and end.   The story would be long, so here is the short of it:

Seven young ladies with heart and determination and the same goal, win the states. Oh, all of the other team had at least twice as many competitors, All of the TigerFish girls are honor roll or higher! they cheer on the teams they compete against ???   They finish third in the sectionals and qualify for the states for the for the very first time!  They finished 7th in the states.  Congratulations 2010 TIGERFISH, Liana Jaeger, Kelly Benson, Leah Carlson, Mary Krathwohl, Kiely Aiello, Kate Pardo, Meg Bresnahan

Good luck to Liana as she is a senior this year and plans on attending college in September,  congratulations on being selected as a Boston Globe All Star.

Thank you for putting up with me and my camera, Good Luck in 2011!
