We Was Robbed Part 2, No, GOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!

I was all set to write “We was robbed part 2”. Again the refs seemed to not want the USA to advance. USA vs. Slovenia was going down as a 0-0 in the 91st minute. Both teams catch an early flight home with a tie. The United States and Dempsey had scored a clean goal early on but the hallucinagenic referees called Dempsey offsides although on replay he was clearly on and in.

And so it ground on.

On the left hand screens England was up one nil and the big screens USA tied 0-0. That added up to going home. But then in add-on time USA brings it down the middle, a pass, a shot on goal blocked (Algerian keeper was amazing all day) and the rebound came out to Donavan’s left foot and bang it was over. The Jerry Remy Bar and Grill was passing out these little soccer balls and I am surprised none went in the air or through the screens but the place went wild.

The Bloody Mary’s were served in smaller glasses today but they may have had the same amount of vodka. Nothing to complain about. 8)

One more time with gusto:

GOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!

Oscar – Pet of the Week At Cape Ann Animal Aid

Here’s the second installment of GMG Pet of The Week-

Good Morning Gloucester!  I am all ready for rainy weather or whatever comes
my way.   My name is Oscar and I am Dachshund.   I love toys and you will
never see me without one in my mouth or near by.
I am a little guy who likes the outdoors.  I like to hike in the woods, walk and don’t let these
short legs fool you – I can keep up with you.   I like my naps, too.   I love to curl up in the
afternoon on a nice soft blanket.   I enjoy riding in the car and just being with people.
I get along with most dogs as long as these don’t take my toys.  I have a little
confession – I like cats but I just love to chase them!  I am being fostered because at
the shelter I was feeling too stressed out and always awake checking to see if anyone
was going to take my toys.  One dog – he looked like half-a-pony – I thought for sure
if I fell asleep he was going to take my toys.   Because of my "intense" style, I am
looking for an adult home.  If you think you could be person(s), please give the shelter
a call so we might chat a little more!   The Cape Ann Animal Aid is located at
260 Main Street in Gloucester and may be reached at (978) 283-6055

Behavior Issue at Niles

This mom swan was furious that her young baby swam in front of her. Very protective! Is there only one left this year? I’ve seen the red fox and the snapping turtles that are predators of the little swans.

Much better!

Today We’re Number 963,042 In The World- 155,259 In The US

image

Last night at The Block Party Peter Van Ness Alerted me to the fact That Good Morning Gloucester is One of three Gloucester websites listed in The Alexa One Million.  The Alexa One Million tracks the traffic of all web sites in the world.  That’s pretty amazing considering the world population clocks the number of people in this world at 6,697,254,041   (that’s billions folks)

The US population is

307,006,550

Out of 307,006,550 million folks in the US GMG ranks 155,259.  Think about how many businesses are out there, publications with paid staff out there, people with individual blogs or websites and we rank 155,259 in the entire US?  When did that happen????

So I guess we’re doing pretty good for a bunch of small timers 🙂
