Dory Rowing Is A 12 Month Activity

The International Dory Race Committee would like everyone to know that there are still two freshly painted practice dories in the water and available for use all through the winter.

For more information and to sign up or sign up a friend or loved one as a holiday gift you can check out the International Dory Website here (a full year membership is only $60)

Membership is $60 for 1 year, and runs January to January. Membership includes use of committee dories, loaner equipment, and race and committee event invitations. To become a member, download the membership form here.

Many thanks to the people who volunteered some time to haul the race dories last weekend.  An excellent turn-out by our members allowed us to finish by 9 AM and make light work of putting the dories to rest for the winter.

Please keep in mind, though that we currently have 2 practice boats with freshly painted bottoms that will be in the water to be rowed all winter.  We don’t want to discourage winter rowing by true iron men & women like Damon & Hilary!!!

21+ Basketball League

Team Fee: $ 625

Team Rosters due Friday November 5th. Games Begin Wednesday, November 10th. A minimum of 10 regular season games, with a maximum of 12 games will be played pending number of registered teams. Single game elimination playoffs and championship games. Teams will need a minimum of 7 players per team with a max of 12 on the roster.

Local Boys Joey Ciolino and Kyle Edmonds Win 1st In Their Class At The Head Of The Charles!

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!  Our Good Buddies Joey Ciolino and Kyle Edmonds, sons of Frank Ciolino and Billy Edmonds Take Home Some Hardware!  Awesome!!!

Hi Joey;  Here are some pics from today. In one of the shots Joey and Kyle are pictured with their coach Brian Chorney who really took these boys under his wing and because of his outstanding coaching skills he got these boys to finish 1st in their class and 2nd in their age group. Also pictured with the boys is Maryellen Auger from the Little Harbor Boathouse Witch we also owe a big thank you to for the all the support she gave us .I’ll send more info about her and the Little Harbor boathouse a little later. The boys both received this award. As you can probably tell We   are so proud  of these guys.We had a great day all around.

Little Harbor Boathouse teen rowers Kyle Edmonds & Joe Ciolino first learned to row at Rowing For All’s Teen Rowing Camp in July and have been training all fall with Head Coach Brian Chorney for their first ever sliding seat rowing competition competing in the doubles race at the Earnestine Bayer Race on the Charles tomorrow, Sun. October 24th!  Congratulations & good luck Kyle & Joe!

Cape Ann YMCA Youth Floor Hockey League Starts November 6th

The Cape Ann YMCA will be running its annual Youth Floor Hockey League, starting November 6th.

Dyno-Mites- Age 3.5-5yrs in Preschool    11:30AM

Mites- Grades K-1st                               10:30AM

Rookies Grades 2-3                                9:30AM 

Juniors Grades 4-5                                  8:30AM

Members: $50 Community: $75

Floor Hockey is a great way for youth to have fun and stay active.  This league provides school age children with a chance to socialize and compete with friends in a safe and instructional setting.  Players will be placed on teams with volunteer coaches.  Teams will be separated by division based on grade.  Referees and team t-shirts included.  Season length is 6 weeks.

Games/practice will be held on Saturdays with 30 minute practice followed by a 30 minute game. Registration deadline is October 30th.

If there’s anything we know around here it’s that the GMG community loves a contest, especially when there are prizes involved.

Here’s the latest.  I have one Great Brewers Gran Prix of Gloucester Poster that will go to the first person that can email a picture of the GMG Homie Pumpkin display at Topsfield Fair.
