My View of Life on the Dock
It should be pointed out that the pictures David took are not the photos that will be used for the calendar. these are pictures of the shoot taking place. We will be sure to let y’all know when the calendar becomes available and link to it when it goes on sale.
The 131 foot, 95 ton schooner Harvey Gamage is in town for this weekend’s Schooner Festival. On Tuesday afternoon it was moved from its berth at the State Fish Pier to Rose’s Marine where it was positioned, secured and lifted on the yard’s drydock for bottom cleaning and maintenance. The operation took more than an hour and involved both mechanical and hydraulic devices as well as a good deal of plain old muscle power.

They came in about 8:30pm to unload a Bad Net.
It Could Happen!
Just finished packing the lobsters. Waiting for the truck. A sunset like this at the dock makes it tolerable.

It is very nice to see the logo I designed for the Chamber many years ago (c 1970′s) still being used. This was created prior to the days of computer graphics & fancy programs. It was hand cut in “ruby lith” (which is a film) with an X-Acto knife. The original size of the art was quite large (perhaps 2ft high or more). It was then reduced to the necessary sizes by means of my vertical “stat camera”.
This equipment could produce B&W paper reproductions and/or transparent film images. It would reduce to 33% and enlarge to 300% in one percent increments. By the 90′s the equipment was a “dinosaur” and the trash truck took it to its final resting grounds. Thanks for showing the logo!

Captured this the other day. The tank looked to be as big as a trailer truck.
that was one big ass crane

Not sure that old link belt crane could have handled this job( especially considering it is about 1/5 the size of this one).
