Deb Clarke Gets Her Winter Art Show Ready!

Gloucester Artist and Regular Contributor to GMG, Deb Clarke will be having an Exhibit and Sale of her Works at The Random Arts Gallery in Magnolia during the month of December. Here are a few Photos of the set up. More Photos and Information coming soon!

$25 drawings. will remove these from the wall and sell them from clipboards. signed, no frame, no mat.

This is what I accomplished yesterday at Randomarts in Magnolia.  Today I will re-hang and adjust the lights.  the wall space gets smaller and smaller everytime I look at my work.  the backwall has my ‘new’ work:  the drawings from this past year.  need to get some putty to keep some of the work from ‘moving’ on the wall.  small detail of my favorite work follows.
4 mixed media ‘drawings’ with oil and leaf on 5×5″ panels.  definitely need sticky putty to keep these from wobbling.  selling all work unframed.  folk can spend as much money or not on frames.  and get the art at a very affordable price.  these panels will be under a hundred.  still working out prices.
best to all,
deb.

The Gloucester Sketchbook Project Update from eb

Gloucester Sketchbook Project Update from eb

BECAUSE of other various projects, I haven’t been able to work on my sketchbook for the past few weeks and thus there’s been a lack of updates. Sorry! So here’s a snippet of what I’ve started up with:

The hand written typography is something that I’m really excited about! I haven’t been terribly active with type in a long time, and it felt incredibly satisfying to do some hand lettering. Some are visuals that I copied by eye, just to get my craft back, but none are traced from the source. The ‘u’ in the pencil draft needs to be corrected though….its opposite slant is driving me crazy, sketch or no sketch.

ART, ROCKS! Good Harbor Beach Revisited

Good Harbor Beach ART ROCK left at the scene 11/22/2010 6:07pm

CAN YOU FIND IT?

I got a call about 5am from Joey this morning informing me of a Gloucester teacher who found an “Art Rock” of mine. I didn’t get to see the comment until later this day. When I read what she wrote it touched me. I try to be “The Ass of GMG” as Joey once rightly put it. But I do have feelings. Sometimes :).

To think there are people out there who follow this blog and follow my CRAZY “Art, Rocks!” thing INSPIRES  me. If those are the right words.

I am truly humbled as “I” can be. So thanks to Joey and Teacher Mary Kate Canavan and Her Students, I dedicate tonights Art rock to them;

Thank You so much for the Kind words!
