We snuck in one last dinner at the Studio this week. They close for the season on Saturday night. You might want to get down there before you miss out. It’s a long winter…..
We went looking for fall colors and found kingfishers instead. At 3 different locations recently, we watched the kingfishers doing their thing. It was almost like they were watching us instead of the other way around! I just love finding these guys.
One of the first signs of fall is when the windows start to close. As New Englanders, it is a nearly universal point of pride to keep them open for as long as possible. When the days get shorter and the wind gets colder, the windows start to come down. Closing the windows sets off a chain reaction. It’s a signal that there is more work to be done around the home with the changing of the seasons.

Before becoming a best-selling writer, M.L. “Matt” Buchman dreamed of traveling the world by sailboat or small plane. Not once did he think about doing it by bicycle — not until he lost everything: career, the house he’d been remodeling, for the family he never had time to find, sense of self, all of it. Broke and burned out at thirty-five, he sold everything, climbed on his bicycle Junior, and together they headed…
