What about a DMV RMV at Gloucester Crossing?

There isn’t a DMV on the North shore. Not a bad wait at Revere…Wonder what benefits if any for a host city.

  1. I recently renewed my driving license at the AAA office in Peabody, including the vision check. There was no wait and the lady who took my picture and all was really nice. It would be worth joining AAA if only for their registry service.

    1. Hi Damon. Yes I am card carrying. AAA w/ Tally’s have helped me a couple of times. I picked Revere because of ‘while I was at it’ (nearby for work) I also wanted to check it out.

    1. Thanks for writing. I haven’t been to the Newburyport branch. That was my 2nd choice but since work was in the Boston direction Revere it was. The DMV zipcode prompt recommended Haverhill or Revere. The Revere traffic was bad as it’s off one of the rotaries on the way to the airport. I was curious about sites and thinking over pros/cons for any host locale.

  3. Is there some evidence the state is interested in adding locations (honest question)? And if so, why would they put it on a peninsula w only 40k people on it and not, say, Danvers which is central to many more people?

      1. Thanks for all the thoughts everybody. So It was in Danvers.

        Here’s the map now http://www.massrmv.com/BranchMap.aspx

There’s not always a big model. I picked Revere because of the wait time and because it was on my way for work (framing art for a client). I have used a smaller AAA outpost and one in a city hall in the past. I never used the one that closed in the mall. The Revere one is in a strip mall of similar proportion as Glouc. Crossing. I was wondering why they can’t be small and local, too.

    1. Hi Jim. Thanks for adding in. I wondered that too. I don’t see a pattern. For the ‘blue centers’ Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard each have one. North Adams, Greenfield…

  4. I’m not a member of AAA.
And I didn’t want to go to Revere.
Too much traffic. So I went to Wilmington.
I heard the RMV is going to open an office this summer in Beverly/Danvers/Peabody.
I would like to see a Nick’s roast beef branch at the Glosta X-ing.
Maybe ELIO cars will open a dealership at Hollywood Hits.
    GO PATS!!!

  5. I mentioned this to a friend not long ago. It seems to me that it would provide a much needed service with the added benefit of hopefully attracting new and better buisness to the mostly vacant plaza.
