You will have to wait something like two billion years to see something like this again. 10:11 PM is the time you need to remember.

6:22PM the moon rises.
8:12 Penumbral eclips begins nothing to see
9:07 PM partial eclipse begins
10:11 PM full eclipse begins (shit gets real. The moon is now in complete shadow.)
10:47 PM maximum eclipse ( demons appear, world ends)
11:23 PM full eclipse ends (watch for that first glimmer of light passing over Mount Everest hitting the moon)
12:27 AM (only astronomers and nerds will stay up for this.)

Thanks Paul for posting the schedule!

Dear Dr. Science, at 10:47 PM maximum eclipse- does the moon appear to us to be at the highest point in the sky? Does that time (and appearance) change as you move east or west of Glostah? Or is the moment of maximum eclipse universal to all who are in the “zone” who can observe it? (Best regards to RD and hope he/she doesn’t become loony.)

It is not the highest point. In Gloucester it will be east of the zenith. In California it will be west and setting while still in eclipse.
Basically with a full moon rising at sunset and moonset at morning sunrise but all of the eclipsing for us will be done before midnight. Nice!

The next SuperMoon Eclipse is in 2033, just 15 years away.
I saw the one in 1982. As I remember it wasn’t all that Amazing.

The two billion years is just a guess (called hyperbole) since we live in New England and it will be raining or cloudy each eclipse for at least two billion years.
Amazement is in the eye of the beholder. Full moons amaze me. 14% bigger and full eclipsing on a perfect clear Sunday night? Bonus amazeballs.

Thanks for the reminder Paul. Hope to stay awake long enough to see it.

10:32 PM and the coywolves started howling at 10:11. I winched a furnace out of the basement single handed today and so pooped I think I can make it to maximum eclipse 10:47 then I am crashing.
