  1. No a beast at all pure love and you know it 🙂 Upfront a little long Paul about our beast 21 years oldie but goodie!

Our second beloved dog Bianco pure white puppy Sheppard with red nose when sister brought him home1966-1967 after our first beloved beagle “tiny” passed on to dog heaven. She was given the puppy by Suzi Luka (Sp?) close to Plum Cove Beach husband was a Massachusetts State Trooper Tommy Luka.

When we were getting ready to leave MA for trip west in a converted Highway bus that drove the route of Cape Cod (Woods-hole, Buzzards Bay, etc), could not bring him along. I remember all of us were heartbroken and shed some tears.

Mom gave the dog to a nice man out of East Gloucester he drove it to the new home Bianco had some adjustment problems escaped the house and when mom came home one from work the dog was sitting in chair outside our house. She called the man whom she had given him to and said I guess we will keep him and take him with us if that determined to stay.

We were all happy he was coming with us but sad to be leaving where you spent all your life as a child, west ward! He lived to the ripe old age of “21 years human age” survived a rattlesnake bite in August of 1968.

Defensive protecting younger brother and his friend who were playing too close to where the rattlesnake called home and was rattling defensive coiled. Our dog heard it and sensed danger for children both 5 playing by a creek that sage brush, Mesquite snakes home area. The snake bit Bianco mouth and nose area, nose skin changed after that not as red skin scarring.

Adults close by ran to dog barking and then yelp pulled the kids back and relocated snake to the end of the private property (40) acres to about 20 acres away past barbed wire fence line. The property was in Carson National Forest about 5 miles from nearest town and even farther to Espanola where vet was.

Brought dog who was starting to swell up and rubbing his paw across his nose me and younger brother were with him in back of VW bus to vets and he got anti-venom shot and was very sick for 3-4 days but pulled through. Was not a dry bite but vet seemed to thing not too much venom injected. After that any rattling or similar noise brought back bad memories and he stayed clear and slow around similar type of sounds.

He died in 1987 (natural causes) on his favorite old Army blanket we used to lift him up and carry him outside by his favorite tree in the shade in front yard and bring him in as he lost his mobility but still eating and sleeping vet said he was not suffering and spent most of the time sleeping, step dad was with him when he walked forward.

He is now buried under another tree we planted above Scotch Pine which carries his spirit to this day – lives on inside all of us too another vet who heard this from our vet called mom and wanted to know what we were feeding for his longevity. Mom told him nothing special but lots of love that’s how we all remember him too and he lived his life to fullest each day!

After the long trip across country he loved to drive and go to driveway yard gate every time go somewhere in car or truck. If said no to him just look at you with sad face – but if said ok come on, tail wagging and drove me nuts barking at all dogs on street jump from passenger side to drivers side when in truck one seat, but my vehicles bought used vehicles (Ford Galaxy 500, automatic with 352 70’s oil embargo gas $$ lines, yuk, 1963 Buick Special 3 on the tree and reverse, converted it to and put Hurst shifter on floor, with alumni engine block), Brothers Chevy Nova II put him in back. 
