That’s generally where they sleep every night. We usually see them walking and I think it surprises people to realize that they can fly, albeit for only short distances.

Sometimes I see them in the trees, pretty spooky looking, how bad I felt one day when the turkeys were in my yard and had a turkey in the oven

Turkeys in trees are a sign of predators on the ground… Watch for coyotes!

We had a bunch of domestic ones the males could not go as high as the females of course out tom was a little on the heavy side. These are females here in the picture and yes they love the high tree branches and raccoons may bother them at times! They came to the clearing so they were looking for seed or something…
