As host to the fantastic Taste of Cape Ann, the Cruiseport Gloucester was the place to be last night!
We went….and we tasted.
What a tremendous collection of Cape Ann’s finest purveyors, establishments, and eateries serving up some delicious food, decadent treats, and a choice selection of beverages…all in the name of a fantastic cause. Â Can you say, “Win, Win”? Â Many excellent raffle items also helped to raise more money and give other local businesses the opportunity to get involved in this tremendous event.
All ticket sales will go towards supporting Cape Ann YMCA Teen Service Trips to New Orleans, Navajo Nation, and Nicaragua. Â I’m not sure I can think of a better learning opportunity for our community’s youth than providing them the chance to help communities that are in dire need. Â It is worth mentioning that I couldn’t have been more impressed by the students that were in attendance to represent the YMCA last night. Â They were enthusiastic, incredibly helpful, and wonderfully polite. Â Several times throughout the evening I was asked, “Is there anything I can do for you?” and they were right there to remove plates from tables, tidy the function space, and offer friendly smiles. Â Great job, kids! Â Way to represent!

What a great group here!!! The YMCA was vital in my youth – summer camp days out in the woods and cabins, field trips…I remember took the school bus there with the muscle man his name was” rusty”? I believe could be wrong…played along the marshes and capture the flag! Then, it was around the camp fire and the legend of red eyes. .:-O I still have a picture of my older brother and younger brother I was six then, respectively (5, 6, 7) years old, with a Salem YMCA T-shirt Polaroid B/W taken in back yard there off Washington street squinting like Clint Eastwood bright sunny day!

Wow, that looked like a fun event! Thanks for the fabulous pics. Do you know who made those beautiful colorful macarons? I ask because captions aren’t lining up on iPhone. Will have to check out event next year, good food, great cause means must go!

Joey nailed it. Definitely Stones Pub! They are beyond yummy! I tried to put captions on all photos where it wasn’t obvious where the food, etc came from….such as the macaroons. Sorry those captions aren’t lining up on your iPhone!! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
