Your welcome Donna – here is what I found out about Somerville from Mom this weekend called. She thinks it was Perkins Street (Row House?) and at the end of the road was a Catholic Church and Priest was (Father Hogan Michael Irish). She worked at a store named Filene’s (Boston), converted to Macy’s 2006. And times were very tough $$$ as dad was out of work trucker strike (Teamsters). This was after the Korean War think he got out in 1953.

Hi Dave, Filene’s was my first charge card, I miss them.. I lived on Porter Street and worked at Woolworth’s in Davis Square. Thanks for the information and all of your kind words
