Savour Wine and Cheese Upcoming Events
Greetings! March is a busy month at Savour, starting with our first Pinot Noir Seminar, Tuesday, March 4.
Our special guest is David Polite, owner and winemaker at Carlton Hill Winery in McMinnville, Oregon – the heart of the famed Wilammette Valley. He will pour his elegant Pinot Noirs for you to taste, talk a bit about what is involved in growing this very challenging grape, and explain what it takes to make great Pinot Noir.
Come sip, savour, and learn about one of America’s most prized and elusive wines.
“Currently 11 acres in production, Carlton Hill Vineyard sits in the center of Oregon appellation Yamhill-Carlton District. The Yamhill-Carlton appellation, which is comprised of the sedimentary remains of an ancient ocean bed, is unique in that the soils are some of the oldest in the Willamette Valley region.
And, while the Appellation is still very young, the wines produced from here reveal very distinct bright, black fruit flavors.” David and Dan Polite, Carlton Hill Proprietors

Pet of the Week-Adira
Hello! I am a sweet, meek and mild-mannered cat. I am more of an introvert, so I take a little longer to get use to new friends, but I have a very gentle soul. I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid (CapeAnnAnimalAid.com), located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Lane, Gloucester.
I arrived here after being found as a stray and never claimed. I am looking forward to having a forever home. I love soft napping spots, sunny windows and I love bird watching. I have a pretty brown-and-black coat. I am looking forward to having a nice lap sleep in and someone to love me.
Oh! I almost forgot to tell you – my name is Adira! Please stop by and visit me soon.
You’re OK Get Up. You’re OK. You’re OK. Get Up. It Just Scared You Honey…
Did you hear the thunk? I mean straight up couldn’t lay a more solid forehead plant on that bar.
And then the mother chuckles a little before she tries to convince the kid that he didn’t just get completely annihilated.
Total compassion out of the mom right there. She ain’t raising no softie!
Define Getting Bundled: see video
Is this your move?
Like when your kid gets destroyed on the playground do you give them the old “Shake it off” routine?
I feel like there are two completely different camps on this. Mothers that would be crying harder than the child and coddling them and then other moms that will pick the kid up, give em a boot in the ass and tell them to run up that slide til they get it right.

Downton Abbey: That’s All Folks (Until Next Year…)
Season 4 of Downton Abbey is over, and as much as I love to complain about its soap opera excesses, I’m gonna miss now it’s gone. I’m already looking forward to next winter, when the millions of us who watch this show can once again spend January and February with the Crawley family and their servants. In Season 5, will viewers get to see Mary’s decision about which one of her suitors to marry? For my money, I think it will be the Pigman. Mary will steal him away from Edith and together, Mary (Lady Pigman to you!) and her man will raise pigs and make so much money for Downton Abbey by selling bacon rashers that the old home place will never be in financial trouble again.
