You’re invited to join Healthy Gloucester Collaborative on Wednesday, October 23 at 5 PM at Rose Baker Senior Center for a FREE event featuring a light dinner and relaxed evening of community conversation while participating in a World Cafe. Together, we can building on existing relationships, programs, and energy within Gloucester to strengthen our community and connect our neighbors and families.

Representatives & partners of Discover Gloucester are attending the MA Governor’s Conference on Tourism at the State House in Boston on Monday Oct. 21. We’ll join MA tourism partners from all areas of the State to hear remarks by Governor Patrick; MOTT ED Betsy Wall; Christopher Thompson, CEO of Brand USA (the federal effort to bring International visitors to the US); Senate President Therese Murray; Patricia Rojas-Ungar, United States Travel Association and others. We’ll also hear a presentation of MOTT’s FY14 Marketing Plan and much more. A full day!

Because Discover Gloucester has an extensive data base, we were asked to share this announcement with Gloucester voters who own or work in tourism based businesses: You’re all invited to attend an event “Mac on Tourism” with Mayoral candidate Mac Bell on Monday evening, October 21, 6-8PM at the Cape Ann Community Cinema, 21 Main Street to chat about the future of tourism in Gloucester. Sponsored by Cape Ann Community Cinema, Short & Main Restaurant and Alprilla Farm.

The Seabourn “Sojourn” cruise ship will make a surprise port of call visit to Gloucester on Wednesday, October 23, docking at Cruise Port Gloucester.Passengers will be ashore approximately 9AM to 4:30PM. The high end ship is carrying a full load of 450 passengers. Three shore excursions are planned for scenic tours of Gloucester & Rockport with scheduled shopping time in Rockport. All passengers will have time to walk around Downtown, the waterfront & the Boulevard.
