On this day my family and I walked westward across the Brooklyn Bridge to Ground Zero. About midway, there was a brass relief image of the Manhattan skyline. Where the Twin Towers were visible on the plaque, now there was only sky.

Wow…amazing shot, thanks for sharing this today. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to be near Ground Zero only 11 days after the attacks.

I am sure it’s one of the scenes that etched in the mind forever! I was just getting ready to go into to work when I was called by a Co-worker to turn the TV – on this way and the pain.
