I’m sharing this with you from the POP Gallery:
“Wasn’t sure if you heard about the police busting some shoplifters on Main Street this weekend? They caught a couple, man and a woman, who had a ton of inventory on them from several shops… mostly jewelry. They had taken two sets of earrings from Pop, but luckily the inventory was recovered and the crooks caught! We wanted to say thank you formally to the police department and are reaching out to the Gloucester Times as well as GMG.”
-Peg and Vignette-

Didn’t see this in the Times? Locals or out-of-town vermin? Photos available?

I wasn’t aware of this shoplifting spree until POP Gallery brought over their announcement. I always read the Police Notes, and only recall that a young man was caught with sticky fingers in Walgreens. Sad.

It was a man and a woman. Apparently they hit Pop, Premier Imprints and Tiny Island Beach Glass. The police officer came by the gallery about thirty minutes or so after these two left Pop and presented me with some earrings. A few days later, they came by with photos of other inventory the pair had on them. The sad thing was, they seemed like the nicest people… they chatted with me, tried things on and even had me place some things on hold for them. Not cool. Very impressed by the efficiency with which they were caught! As a Los Angeles native, I am not used to stolen goods being recovered so quickly, if at all. Well done, Gloucester PD!
