Anyone know if the Fireworks are cancelled this evening at the Harbor??
Ah, yes, the Douglas-Jordan Building. Lots of memories for me. My grandfather, John A. Johnson, ran his insurance agency out of the Duncan Street side of the building for many years. Later, Gloucester’s FM radio station, WVCA, had their studios there. When I was in High School I worked there, and had a radio program on Saturdays.
If you look at the top corners of the building, you can still see the steel plates that were mounted there to hold the guy wires for WVCA’s antenna.
