Well it’s been a while since posting on GMG. I have been real busy with work. I was home today and was eating a Virgilio’s sandwich looking through old photos and this one popped up. This is an HRD that was taken during the Block Party last summer.
Joey, I invited 2 officials from the Communist Youth Party under the old Soviet regime in the USSR to represent for GMG 🙂 I think this might be the first time Gloucester has been saluted by Soviet officials! Also by an authentic Belarusian teddy bear in the background! Привет из Беларуси! (“Greetings from Belarus!”)
Inter-YMCA QuickStart Tennis League (Ages 5-12)
Fee: Member $50 Community $75
Play matches against Ipswich, Sterling, and Lynch Van Otterloo YMCAs in this brand new traveling tennis league using United States Tennis Association’s revolutionary playing format called QuickStart Tennis. League starts March 4 at Cape Ann YMCA. Practices are Thursday Afternoons. Matches are played on Saturdays ; schedule TBA.
Thurs 3:30pm (Ages 5-8) 4:30(Ages 8-12)

The snow might be melted, but those fields are just not ready yet! So we bring the best game inside! Join us Saturday morning as we continue on with our Youth Sport Leagues. Each indoor soccer league is age specific and will help to teach the game of Soccer. Participants will be instructed on the fundamentals of soccer including dribbling, passing and shooting. Players will be placed on teams with volunteer coaches. Team Tee Shirts will be distributed on the first day of play. League begins March 6th. Registrations are due February 27th.

I was in the Cape Ann Historical Museum on 27 Pleasant Street, doing a project and came across a painting I had not seen in years. W. G. Brown’s Department store was the place to buy that special gift, and hanging on the wall was this massive painting of the owner.
In the museum library, there it was on the wall where I was taking photos of old Captains Courageous books. I extend many thanks to Rhonda Faloon and Stephanie Bucks who have helped me so much the past few days.
I thought I would share with your readers.

For any girl interested in playing lacrosse, on February 28th from 10am to Noon in the GHS Field-house, Coach MacLaughlin, Coach Barker and members of the GHS girls lacrosse team will be hosting a clinic for girls of any age that would like to learn about lacrosse.
Girls registration is open for 5th thru 8th grades. First practice will be mid March and the first game is on Sunday, April 11th. The schedule will be announced soon!
