We were all walking away from the lighthouse, turned around to take a last look and scrambled to set up the tri-pod’s once again. I unfortunately am not so quick with the tripod so this one is without, but the feeling of this picture and being there was pure beauty!

WIP “Stranded on the Annisquam”
Here is a W.I.P.(work in progress)of a Painting I did of a boat at it’s mooring at Dead Low tide.
It’s Right around the Bend from the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge Looking North down the Annisquam River. It looks like it would get Dangerous at dead low tide there. You can see the photograph I used for reference in the third photo. The thing I like about Painting compared to Photography is; you can add, subtract and move anything anywhere you’d like. Opps! Sorry I forgot, some talented GMG people can do that with Photoshop.

Spirit of Massachusetts was launched on April 28, 1984 at the Charleston Navy Yard in Boston, Massachusetts. She is modeled after the 1889 fishing schooner Fredonia, designed by Edward Burgess. The Gloucester fishing schooners were widely known as “fast and able” vessels, and Fredonia was widely known for her speed. Spirit of Massachusetts proudly upholds that tradition to this day.
Spirit of Massachusetts was built by her original owners for service as a sail training vessel for young people. She also served as a good-will ambassador for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1984 until 1987. Ocean Classroom Foundation began chartering Spirit for our own educational programs in 1997, and subsequently purchased her in 2000.

GMG Poll Question- Vote For The Style Of The Blog
As you know if you’ve been a reader of GMG for any amount of time at all we post a lot of pictures and videos.
The format of the blog is such that the current style only allows us to post pics and videos which are 500 pixels wide. This bothers the hell out of me because I don’t feel as though people get to see some of the amazing photos in all their glory because of this limitation. It’s also the reason I go through the extra step often times of providing a link to where the full size photo is hosted for those who might actually want to be able to see the pictures and videos full sized. To say that always typing out the hyperlink to the larger sized photos or videos isn’t a bit monotonous would be a lie.
So anyway there is an alternative- changing the look of the blog to one which would support a larger viewing width of 725 pixels wide. We would gain a lot of screen real estate where the current wasted space in the left hand margin is and we could post larger pictures and videos. I think the typeface might also be a bit easier to read on the newer style. We would lose the Good Harbor Beach Logo Header up at the top and the light blue borders however.
All of the other features such as the commenting and stuff you see in the right hand column would remain.
The format I was thinking to switching to is the blog format FOB Bowsprite uses. You can check out her site here to see exactly what GMG would look like except you would swap out her information and links for ours.
