Soul Rebel Project Concert Castle Hill tomorrow & Zach joins in!

Soul Rebel Project will be playing tomorrow at the Thursday Night Picnic Concert at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate. It’s the 21st year for this summer concert series at Cranes, a Trustees property, 290 Argilla Rd, Ipswich, MA. Concerts are 7pm – 9pm and gates open at 5pm for the tailgate picnic part. Tickets are available for sale at the gate only: Members: $20/car; Nonmembers: $30/car; Walk-in, bicycle, & motorcycle: $10.

I’m psyched to hear that Zach Gorrell will be joining in. You may know Zach from his work at Sound Harbor Cape Ann Art Haven or Cape Ann Big Band. They just played Fiesta. He’s awesome! Of course, Gloucester knows Soul Rebel Project, too. And they just played during Fiesta at Minglewood.

The reason the header in the upper left corner reads “Don’t believe your eyes” is because of our 200+ lots we always have at our auctions, we only get to post a small percentage of photos. And since auction lots come in right up until the day of the sale, there are always a lot of surprises. And often the best items in the auction, are not even shown in the photos.

This will be another one of our CASH AUCTIONS, so please know that CASH will be the only accepted form of payment.

Here’s what the cat has dragged in so far:

ART: A large o/c painting of a ship by Robert Alexandar, vintage lithographed calendars from the Cape Ann Tool co. of Rockport, MA, an etching by Geo. Harvey Wainwright of Annisqaum, & more paintings, prints, antique photographs & tintypes etc.

Over 1,500 antique postcards including small town New England cards, cards of Gloucester, MA, Newburyport MA, beautiful Victorian embossed Christmas postcards, some real-photo cards, military cards & more.

Silver Morgan Dollars & other collectible coins, a large bucket of antique keys, a beautiful fossil & amethyst crystals, primitives, antique tools, sea-glass, paperweights, ephemera, jewelry, pottery, porcelain, lamps, decorating items, fabrics and much more!
We’ll have our usual 200+ lots crossing the block.
Please bring your own boxes and packing.
There’s no snackbar on the premises, but we’re tucked in between Dunkin Donuts & The 525 (Magnolia’s great new restaurant!)

Check out what’s new @ Cape Ann Auction Emporium at 8 Lexington Ave in Magnolia.

pirateshiplogotest.1dc01dc

Rumors of my death are greatly exagerated – Mark Twain
The above Mark Twain quote is one of my favorites and I’ve wanted to use it for a long time. I’ve never had a reason to do so – until now.
Recently you may have heard that Cape Ann Auction was going out of business. Let me put those rumors to bed.

Cape Ann Auction is NOT going out of business.
Far from it!

Last August we opened the Cape Ann Auction Emporium at 8 Lexington Ave in Magnolia.

That store has been very busy. As many happy customers will attest we are stocked with a lot of great treasures and all prices have room for dealers to make $

Between the store and the many house-calls we’ve had for buying merch., it’s been necessary to slow down our schedule for auctions & other events.

At any given time we may announce an auction, but the growth of the store is demanding all of our energy right now.

In fact:

It looks like we’ll be expanding to a bigger space next door to #6 Magnolia Ave! More on that as it develops.

Also in the wings is a revamp of our 4000+ page website at http://www.auctionwally.com
and our http://www.capeannauction.com

The sites will be more interactive with planned special events at the store!

What’s New in the Store?

We’ve recently acquired a nice selection of fine art:

1
Vera Eugenia Andrus (1896-1979)
Well known Rockport MA artist

We have 8 of these large hand-carved panels by a Russian artist.

2

What can we do for you?
Do you want to sell your quality items?

3

We just sold this Guy Bardone ($2,000) for a client and we can help you sell your fine art too!

Something for everyone!

We do have plenty of bargain price deals such as our
“All for One Price Outdoor Sale Table”

Right now, we have dozens of antiques & collectibles on that table at $3.00 each or 2/$5.00

We would GREATLY appreciate it if you could help us out and spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, OTB, email,… carrier pigeon.

Today !Flea Market/Auction Dec 6th. 5-8pm

flea bananas

Friday December 6th, 2013 Cape Ann Auction continues it’s “First Friday of the Month” evening sales. Last month we billed it as an indoor yard sale. But since we had over one dozen other people setting up with us, most who’ve signed on again!5-8pm. Doors open at 5pm sharp, sorry, NO EARLY BIRDS.
1 Lexington Ave (In the Charles Jones Hall at the MLCC)
Magnolia Village in Gloucester, MA 01930So this time, CAA is changing up the theme a little bit and we’re billing it as a flea mark & auction.  We’re looking into the possibility of this becoming permanent and growing event.First, we’re calling it a flea market, because most of the people that set up sold pretty cool vintage or antique items. At 7 pm promptly, CAA will put up lots on the auction block that were displayed earlier in the flea market as AUCTION ONLY items. This will be different from our usual seated auctions in the following ways:

  1. There won’t be any seating.
  2. It will be a “cash only” auction, meaning that each item will be paid for in cash, immediately after we sell it. (So bring plenty of change!)
  3. After Cape Ann Auction is finished selling it’s auction lots, it will open up the floor to flea market vendors who want to sell some of their items at auction.

If you live on or near the North Shore, or plan on visiting during this time, please help spread the word about this fun event! We appreciate any Facebook Shares, Tweets, Google Plus adds,  email forwards etc.

Thanks, we hope to see you there! Don’t forget, there won’t be any early birds allowed in.

Reminder ~ Auction Tonight 1 Lexington Ave in Magnolia 6:00pm. Inspection starts at 4:00pm.

What are you doing tonight? Do you love antiques, sit glued to the TV when American Pickers, Pawn Stars and Storage Wars are on? Do you get up at 5am to be ready for yard sales? Want to go shopping at a venue that has unique one of a kind items? Looking for a special gift for someone? What if that place let YOU be in control of how much you pay? If any of this sounds like fun, you should head over to 1 Lexington Ave in Magnolia tonight for the auction being held by Cape Ann Auction. The sale is filled with antiques, jewelry, coins, furniture, glass & china and much more. It starts at 6pm, but inspection starts at 4pm and there’s a lot of things to see so you should get there early.
