I have a passion for food. And I have an even greater passion for breakfast food. Wether it’s prepping, making sauces, waffles, pancakes, fried eggs, scrambled, home fries, green chili covered breakfast burritos, bacon, and biscuits…I LOVE IT ALL!
Then there’s Eggs Benedict, no first meal has a sense of class and sophistication like Eggs Benny. So I offer to you my first two masterful examples fashioned by two of our finest local King’s of the Cooktop. First up: Linguica Eggs Benedict by Chris DeWolfe.
Next up is Two Sisters, home of some very impressive breakfast masterpieces. Most of the time you will be pampered by great food and tons of laughs with this young man, Aaron Poole, and I mean tons of laughs!
What’s under there you ask? The “Surf” comes by way of the Fisherman’s Benny Fish Cake, and the “Turf” travels to your plate from the Emerald Island of Ireland, the Homemade Corned-beef hash! That right there is what dreams are made of folks, dreams.
I should mention the masterful home fries, but I think you can smell them from where your at. Now go, venture out, eat well, and report back your findings of true love.
Eastern Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris)
Benjamin Franklin writes a letter to his daughter Sarah Beche in 1784, criticizing the appearance and choice of the Bald Eagle as the national bird of the United States, presumably preferring the Wild Turkey, “…I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For in truth the Turkey is in comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America… He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a Red Coat on.”

Listen, if you have some namby pamby desk job you don’t need to read this. This breakfast is for the physical working man and woman who need some serious food to get them through a physically demanding work day.
Do yourself a favor and go to Two Sisters. Even if it’s not on the menu owner Patty says they will make it for you any day- The Aztec Scrambled.
This meal is perfectly spicy and full of protein between the eggs, beans and meat in the chilli. Trust me on this- if you have a tough day ahead, get yourself over to Two Sisters and fuel up on a hearty, tasty breakfast- the Aztec Scrambled.
(the coffee is great too)

You know it’s home made when there are chuncks of corned beef in there. Rockin good! Click the pic to see what I mean.
Yesterday I met with GMG’s David Cox at Two Sisters Coffee Shop to get his awesome GHS vs Lynn English photos which are uploading as I type this.
I asked Patty what I could take a picture of that would be visually stunning for the blog. Of course you can’t go into Two Sisters without getting thoroughly entertained. Her response- “You’re lookin’ at it right here” while she points toward herself.
I settled on the fantastic veggie benedict which was Patty’s second choice of visual delight. I couldn’t just go straight veggies though, had to add the linguica.
