As a season ticket holder for the Harbor Shuttle, I use the shuttle to go to Rocky Neck and or just ride on a hot day. It also gives me an opportunity to meet people visiting Gloucester, and even local folks. I met my neighbors for the first time, even met the daughter of the landlady that we rented from when we came to the USA, on the shuttle. Below are only some of the many people I have met.
Concert by the Sea at Beauport , at the Sleeper-McCann House, in the garden overlooking Gloucester Harbor. Listened to great music by Henry Allen and the New Swingers, watching the sunset and schooners passing by, what a great setting.
I met Kitty Beer on the Water Shuttle, she is an author who has published “Human Scale” Fiction – about Boston in 2062. where it is mostly under water. She also wrote “What Love Can’t Do” another fiction about portrayal of the consequences of global warming.
The Crow’s Nest was made even more famous after the movie The Perfect Storm, staring George Clooney, who when in Gloucester may stop in for a drink.

Chinese Students from XI’ IN GAOXIN school, enjoy a visit to the Gloucester House.
Harbor Tours provides a tour of six Lighthouse tour on Cape Ann, (Ten Pound Island, Eastern Point, Straitsmouth, Thacher and Annisquam Lighthouses). The tour is far more; it is narrated by Captain Donald Steele; who gives the history of Cape Ann and the many points of interest; you seethe many islands along the coast line, local and private beaches, and some celebrities’ homes along the shore. As a Gloucester native he tells stories of the many storms, that occurred along the rough coast line of Cape Ann.
The tour is a must for locals and Gloucester visitors. In the slideshow you will see the many delighted faces of people on the tour that I went on this past weekend.

Terrell (81) and Carol drove from Sarasota Florida on their Honda Motorcycle to visit a friend in Gloucester.
Terrell is/was a “Sahib” in the Shriner Organization.
Captain Tom Ellis took the Thomas E. Lannon out on a glorious sail beyond the breakwater, Celtic singer Michael O’Leary and Friends played music to the delight of everyone on board, many happy faces enjoying the sunset and a welcoming flock of sea gulls as they escorted the Schooner Lannon back home.
These hours are only on Friday and Sturday, Normal hours Monday through Friday.
