My View of Life on the Dock
photos and video from shore. September 23 and 24, 2024

photo caption: 3/10/2024 at about high tide, views from Gloucester and Rockport, Long Beach, Twin Lights. Before the sun came out, the wind was strong enough this morning to move a portapotty off site 100′ down a street. Later, when the sun broke, waves in the surf matched up with a cloud filled blue sky.

March 9, 2024: The gray days are pretty, too. Snow buntings still about.

Feels like summer!
Cape Ann SUP & surf – renting boogie boards, too!

Piping plovers and other shorebirds are visiting, too. If you see them, be happy and celebrate a healthy beach.

Views today were taken an hour before the afternoon high tide. Prior high tide left its mark, and I expect more tomorrow with such high winds predicted.

The waves along the back shore were pretty terrific the other day

Rain wind and surf at Good Harbor Beach area last week.
Yesterday’s Surf at the Back Shore.
Love when this happens to ocean spray! Saturday looks like we’re going to have some sea swells. We’re spared today’s “high surf advisory” accorded to Cape Cod and Maine from Hurricane Gert.

A few photos over the past week in the harbor and back shore.
Long Beach can be a surf spot on Saturdays year round; yesterday was dotted.

A quick trip to the end of Long Beach yesterday…never gets old.

Thanksgiving morning I took an early morning walk to relax before all the craziness started. It reminded me to be extra thankful for the wonderful place I live.
The light we have on Cape Ann is amazing and everyday it’s a little bit different. It was nice to have the Thanksgiving break, where I had time to enjoy the mornings a little more, rather than my usual rush to work and sitting in 128 traffic.

Hi Joey,
Surfers love catching and riding the best waves but getting one on camera just right may require upwards of 150 or more camera clicks; here is one from (more than 140) yesterday at Back Beach.
Thanks, Skip
