A preliminary drawing was discussed outlining the new possible location for the Farmer’s Market. Amongst several proposed improvements, my favorite was the idea to connect, via a new trail, Stage Fort Park to Ravenswood. GENIUS!! A commitment was made to continue to work with the Cape Ann Farmer’s Market, Cyclocross, festivals, neighbors, and all interested parties. Looking forward to learning more!

Relax, parents. Now you can allow your kids to walk, ride a bike, or take a bus to school, without you or your children getting arrested. The recently-signed Every Student Succeeds Act contains a section (858) that protects the rights of kids to walk or go out alone. The act was sponsored by Utah senator Mike Lee, who is a supporter of the Free Range Kids movement, and provides some hope for parents who feel that their kids should be allowed some autonomy to get by own their own.

Hi Everyone! This is Lillian LoGrasso and I’m excited to host my 2nd Shopping Night Extravaganza at the Cruiseport Gloucester on Friday, November 21st, 2014! Last year I had this fundraiser for my daughter and her classmates that went to Italy and it was a huge success! This fundraiser is for the Gloucester High School students that are traveling with the school to Italy and France during April Vacation in 2015! The fundraiser helps ALL the kids go that want to go and experience this amazing opportunity! The Shopping Night Extravaganza will include over 20 amazing vendors for you to shop with all in one night! There will be a fun DJ and a cash bar so you can enjoy a cocktail while you shop! THE BEST PART IS FREE ADMISSION!!! There will be tons and tons of raffle prizes for you to buy tickets for!!! And a 50/50! So girls and guys, Mark your calendars and bring all your friends and family!!! Remember all the money goes to the the kids so bring your big wallets!! hahaha Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing you all xoxo Lil

Gloucester High School Photography class is officially off to Italia with Tom and Jacqueline Underwood. The GHS students would like to Thank everyone for supporting their fundraiser last November held at Cruisport Gloucester!

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

PrintThe GHS Photography Class Fundraiser hosted by Lillian LoGrasso and her daughter Alessia on Friday evening was a smashing success. The Cruisport Gloucester ballroom was bustling with shoppers and dancers all night!  Lillian writes,”I don’t have the grand total yet because money keeps coming in…. but I can tell you that each kid will get a nice dent in their trip due to all of YOU! ”

Today I thought I share a personal highlight from Friday evening’s event. My daughter Amanda, and mother Pat were  busy handing out samples of  my Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Dip recipe from my cookbook  to shoppers, while I personally signed copies of my newly released “Gifts Of Gold In A Sicilian Kitchen With Sista Felicia, Harvest.” A handsome man sporting a hat very similar in style to one my grandfather once wore(Cappedu hat) caught my eye while waiting in line at the GMG/Sista Felicia Table….I was experiencing a moment when someone looks familiar, but you just can’t put a name to the face at that very second. He stepped up to the table, picked up a copy of the cookbook, and asked to see page 86 & 87. My daughter Amanda assisted him in finding the page, and he pointed to a gentlemen’s photo on page 86 and said “That’s me!”  I couldn’t get around the table fast enough to give him a big hug. I asked him if he knew my grandfathers,  he chuckled and replied “my name is Sam LoGrasso, and I know all your family and your father Libby too.” Fighting back tears, I asked if he would be willing to take a photo together. He kindly agreed. Thank you Sammy, you made my night!

Happy Birthday To the Effervescent Lillian LoGrasso!

Lillian and her daughter Alessia are holding an incredible event tomorrow night at Cruiseport with over 35 vendors for their Girls/Guys Night Out Shopping Extravaganza.

Sista Felicia will be there with selling her cookbooks and will also have the GMG double thick heavyweight super soft Hoodies (I think there are only about 6 left)

Sista Felicia will be donating a signed cookbook and I will be donating a this Is Gloucester DVD to the fundraising effort.

The Gifts of Gold Gala Event was a smash hit in every way, from the outstanding hors d’oeurves and refreshments, all prepared from the pages of Gifts of Gold, to the stunning decor, created by Felicia, Daphne, and friends. Lillian, Rick, and Joey are wonderful interviewers and, with everyone there to celebrate Felicia’s much deserved success, there are lots of sweet moments in the video.
