Sundays Rock “Art, Rocks!”

iPhone Panorama

Cait (#1 grandkid) and I walked the dog on Good Harbor yesterday. The tide was extremely high and we couldn’t get over the bridge, so we parked on the Brier Neck side.  Beautiful day for the beach! Cait took this photo with the 360Panorama app. Pretty cool!

And here’s one that I took:

Where’s The Good Morning Gloucester Sticka!

Who will be the first to Stick one on there?

Sunny February Sunday!

This young male seal was hanging by the dunes yesterday. Hard to keep the dogs from checking him out. The marine crew put up a sign to stay back, but the dogs….! Anyone know if the seal made it back to the ocean yet?

Annie’s been very sick, but she’s getting better everyday. Fresh air on the beach always helps!

Those two brown dogs were FAST!

Yesterday afternoon’s project

I submitted this last night to the 365 Project.  My body was exhausted from shoveling, but the keyboard took very little exertion, and I learned how to put images inside letters.

Today feels like Monday AND Friday rolled into one! Enjoy the day!

Art ROCKS! Again?

This post has nothing to do with the Art Haven Auction. I was Bored very early this morning. It’s located at one of favorite places to sit and meditate. When I’m not bothered by Joey who drops by once and awhile. If you want it. It was still there as of 12:30pm Saturday 01/22/2011. Goodluck!

Ice Cold Paddler

Walking on the beach yesterday was cold enough without purposely going into the water. I don’t get it, but I sure do admire these guys’ guts.

It’s Black Friday and everyone else is “over the bridge” and “up the line” bumping elbows at the malls, but we locals can stay on the island with our wish lists. The pop-up shop(see related Times article) Present has an incredible selection of unique gifts.

Present is a seasonal art collective made up of fifteen local men and women offering a bevy of eclectic fine craft. Living, creating and recycling on Cape Ann are common themes reflected in the goods including bags made from reclaimed sweaters and recycled sailcloth. Look for jingle flounder, lovely wreaths, hand-knit hats, pottery, felted flowers and bowls, fish prints, and photographs inspired by local people and landscapes.

Delightfully unusual wares also include unique prints and collages, hand-dyed clothing printed with seaweed and other found materials, clever clothing and accessories for children, iron-pressed sandwich keepers, hand-knit wire jewelry, beautifully sewn doll clothes, and itty bitty jewels. Present is a great place to shop for pretty things and one-of-a kind gifts and ornaments.

Present is Karen Chapin, Amanda Cook, Jane Cunningham, Jessica Demarjian, Elizabeth Grammas, Frieda Grotjahn, Jill Josephson, Pam Lally, Sharon Lowe, Stephanie Mason Thibodeau, Camilla MacFadyen, Melanie Murray-Brown, Erin and Scott Place, and Mary Rhinelander.

You can visit the holiday pop-up shop at 271 Main Street, Gloucester from November 6th through December 24th, 2010.

Hours: Monday through Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5; extended evening hours on Thursday; also open 6-9 on Men’s and Ladies’ Nights

Thanks!!    —Sharon

BTW- You can get my Cape Ann calendars at Present, and for those of you who live out of town, you can order them here.

Two Missing Lab Puppies- Back Home Safe!!!! A GMG Update

Rebecca Borden writes in-

Thanks so much – the pups somehow found their way home last night on their own at 1:30am

All is good.

IMG_1580

Two lab pups went missing Monday night after they ran off Good Harbor Beach towards the Inn.  They are regulars of the beach but not the neighborhood. One is Black (F-Stella, 1yr) and the other is Choc (M-Chester, 8mo). They have tags and reflective collars.
Many thanks for all your assistance.
