I am positive any one of these whimsical designs would make a treasured gift (or you may just have to purchase one for yourself as I am so tempted to do!). Needing a gift for a friend who loves to bake, I stopped by Alexandra’s Bread this morning. Thanks to our hard working DPW, I just pulled right into the parking space, easy, peasy! A blast of scents, yummy fresh-baked bread and cranberry scones greeted me, along with an equally as wonderful blast of color in their fun gifts and wonderful handmade treasures. Friends of the Orphans provides financial and volunteer support to Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”), which has orphan homes and outreach programs in nine countries.
Brian Orr, a long-time donor and Friend, is celebrating his birthday on October 10, 2010. He generously wants to share this celebration with all of the children we support and came up with plans for Triple Ten day. More than anything for his birthday, he wants donations to go to Friends of the Orphans to help the children of NPH. His goal is to have 10 x 10 x 10 people (1,000 total!) to contribute $10 each by 10-10-10. Meeting that goal would mean $10,000!
We are so grateful to Brian for his ongoing support and for his efforts on this wonderful fundraiser, which will help thousands of children!

It hasn’t been made into china yet but I’m thinking that some of the finer shops in town like The Black Swan, Stone Leaf, Pauline’s Gifts or Pisces would sell the hell out of this if it were made into China to collectors or people that love the area.

Every day when I get home Snoop Maddie Mad asks me the same question. “You have cobble?” I try to swing down and get them for her and The Bean a couple times a week. They are soft and chewy and they keep the girls busy tearing through them for about 20 minutes.

Every time I go into Alexandra’s bread I’m astounded by all the cool stuff in there. It’s not just bread either. I hesitate to say that Alexandra’s talents are almost wasted in this space because I’d hate to see her go, but really she ought to be a buyer for a huge store. She has assembled the coolest collections of things like Arley Pett’s 1899 Gloucester Map Coasters.
