Happy New Year’s Eve!
Wishing Everyone Peace and Joy in 2015!
My husband and I are also celebrating our anniversary. Here we are in Bermuda at the Coral Beach Club where we married and had our honeymoon.
Can you believe Tom still has that same leather jacket. It was lent to dozens of school and community plays–think West Side Story!
And that’s Tom’s selfie–he’s the original selfie-maker–or at least I had never seen anyone do that before. It’s not very easy with a film camera. He did it so effortlessly, but then again, he can also draw upside down!
We’re so very touched by the beautiful anniversary arrangement sent by our daughter Liv and her fiance, Matt O’Rourke.

The Rocky Neck Plunge is a great, fun Rocky Neck tradition, whether you take the plunge or just come by to watch and cheer on those bold daring ones who do. The Open Door Food Pantry truck will be there, so please bring along some food stuff to donate (they also accept cash and checks payable to Open Door). The Plunge will take place at noon on New Year’s Day at Oaks Cove Beach (Stevens Lane and Wonson Street) on Rocky Neck. Be there, or be somewhere not quite so fun, crazy and exciting.

GMG Tech Talk- Wireless router recommendations
The wireless router at my mom’s house and sisters house quite simply- stink. Constantly dropping signal and resetting.
Has anyone upgraded their wireless router and did it make a noticeable difference?
From the very little research I’ve done the newest routers are capable of doing way more throughput than ones available just a couple years ago.
What are your best bang-for-your buck home computer upgrade suggestions? ram is always cheap, better wireless router, cheap plug and play speakers with subwoofers?
One of the cheapest and best upgrades I did probably over 10 years ago was a sub $50 Cambridge Soundworks speaker upgrade. Two tiny speakers which sit on either side of my monitor and a subwoofer that sits under my desk. Literally plug in two wires and the wall outlet and the sound from my desktop PC is at least 10 times better than what you get from a monitor that might have a couple small tinny speakers built in.
Share if you will your experiences with wireless routers or other computer peripherals that dollar for dollar made your system much better.
