We have several holiday traditions. Some are silly and some are really, really special.
One of the sillier ones started last night….the 3rd season of The Great Christmas Light Fight.
The boys LOVE to hunker down with some cocoa and popcorn and watch the 4 families compete with pretty fantastic holiday light displays. The boys continued to love it even after they realized it wasn’t going to be a show with families chucking holiday lights at each other….as the title evidently led them to believe.
We love “getting to know” the four families, seeing where they live, and hearing their stories. We love seeing them come together and work so hard to make their magic happen. We love guessing Who Will Win.
While it’s no, It’s a Wonderful Life, it works for us.
Check it out if you have some time to kill….if nothing else, it’ll help bring the holiday season to your living room.

Hi Joey-
Cool interactive gateway this year on Cape Ann Art Haven lobster trap design! Great photo op for everybody.
If we ever have buoy overflow –or enough requests and funding– wouldn’t it be great to hang the buoys with the wreaths downtown? We used to have gold buoys with the wreaths.
The wreaths at the train station and along Railroad Avenue look wonderful this year with the new sidewalk.
PUBLIC MEETING ON PUBLIC ART POLICY TONIGHT AT 7PM
Consultant Elizabeth Keithline of Wheel Arts Administration will seek community feedback on a draft statement on the future of public art for Gloucester and will discuss possible policy recommendations at a public meeting on Monday, December 7, at 7:00 pm at City Hall, 9 Dale Avenue, Gloucester. Per order of Mayor Theken, following community discussions about public art in Gloucester, the City and the Committee For the Arts hired consultant Keithline to gather information and make recommendations on a public art policy. Hi Joe,
I was up through Gloucester last weekend of November, and finally stopped at this turn in the road I’ve been wanting to stop at…so pretty at Stubby Knowles Landing. Thought I might share these with you. Gayle White

Hi Joey,
Charles and George received some fun photos and stories about the Gloucester High School cadets program. Here’s a challenge. Local prize for first correct responses.
Who is this cadet with Brando brows and cleaned up coif? Does anyone have any information about the GHS graduation photographer and year?
When was the uniform in the color photo worn at Gloucester High School?
Good Morning Gloucester and the Gloucester Daily Times spread the word about the Gloucester High School Civil War coat that needs restoration. Charles and George set up a youcaring site for anyone who wants to donate on line. Due to their age (6th grade) they themselves don’t have Facebook, but others have been sharing for them! They want to get back to it in January, “because no one wants to do raise money in December.” Money collected will go directly to the Gloucester fund and then on to a textile conservator through the Committee for the Arts.
