Hey Joey,
I saw your post about scarves for men and yarn. I thought you might want to wear your new scarf on the North Shore Yarn Crawl that starts in two weeks! http://northshorekid.com/event/north-shore-yarn-crawl-2013

Muffy is an absolute monster. With her jacked hubby Tad pushing her I thought there was absolutely no way to keep up. I took the turtle approach. Slow and steady for the win. There is no doubt about it The MyZone belt and the reports pushed me to exert at least 40% more energy just based on the accountability and reports it generates after each workout and seeing where you stand on the screens as you’re working out.
Can’t recommend trainng with the MyZone belt enough.
Our buddy Ray Ray wears one too, I’d like to hear her perspective.
6th place out of 24, I’m pretty happy with that.
If anyone wants to challenge me to another MyZone challenge let me know and we can maybe put together a prize for the winner or some wagering 🙂

Their loss is your gain – but only if you act quickly
Take a minute to feel a smidge of sympathy for those unlucky music lovers who couldn’t swap their tickets to Chelsea Berry’s sold out show at Shalin Liu from Saturday 2/9 to this Saturday.
OK, that’s enough. Now go and get those tickets for yourself (they were just made available on-line today click here) and feel bad no more. There aren’t very many of these gems left, so don’t think you can wait until the last minute to snatch ’em up.
If you’ve already got plans for Saturday (maybe you’re going to see the Toasters at Minglewood) or you don’t act quickly enough to get Saturday tickets, there are also a few left for tomorrow (FRIDAY get them here). What ever day you go, you don’t want to miss what could be one of your last chances to see Chelsea with her new band in an intimate venue close to home for a reasonable price. Next time tickets could cost a hundred bucks for seats farther away from the stage than the last row of Shalin Liu, plus expensive parking, a long drive and big lines. If you’re not sure why, check out the video below (more Chelsea Berry Videos here).
Now, to get yourself psyched for a great weekend of music, check out tonight’s lineup here. (Dave Sag hosts Evan Goodreau @ Rhumb Line, which promises to be a great show.)

Job posting: Fisheries Technician (Seasonal)
Hi Joey,
The State is hiring seasonal employees. The following link is for a Fisheries Technician working out of the Emerson Avenue office of the Division of Marine Fisheries. It looks like a good summer job for a college student studying marine biology. Would you post on GMG so parents can forward to their college kids if they might be interested?
Here’s the link to the job posting on the state website: https://jobs.hrd.state.ma.us/recruit/public/31100001/job/job_search_results.do?companyId=59 . Deadline to apply is March 13th.
Best,
Sarah Garcia

Thursday night blues party to host Evan Goodrow with Benny Benson on drums @ The Rhumb Line 8-11
Forest Lawn Productions is proud to present Mr. Evan Goodreau, gootarist, and gargly vocalist to our massive stage this week, as the Dave Sag birthday bash draws to a close. Evan is our certain crowd-pleaser and resident chick magnet. His sinewy style is sure to make your wig flip. Dancing is inevitable. As is great wailing and gnashing of dentures.
Backing Mr.G will be our own Irish Ace of Pace, Mr. Benny Benson on the friolators, with myself on the bass. Gonna be a sweaty night, bring your own Snapjax and Wildroot®.

And Monday, once again from 1 to 3 at the Rose Baker Senior Center, the mighty Good Old Salty Jazz Band holds court, playing your favorite songs from the 12th century. You really ought put those Keno cards down and czech this out.
Again, thank you-all for your continued support; we’d be nothing without you. Any friends who want to receive my weakly missive should be corralled my way. I’m always looking for fresh meat. Don’t forget: our new Fred-approved winter hours are 8 to 11 pm.

Also known as Cape Ann Light Station, these twin lights are the only surviving multiple lights on the coasts of the United States. The original 45-foot towers were constructed and lit in 1789—making them among the oldest of America’s lighthouses. The stout 124 foot granite towers seen today replaced the original lights in 1861. The two towers were constructed so that when a ship sites on both towers, they point to true north—allowing sailors to check and adjust their compasses.

Thacher Island is located about a mile offshore of Rockport. The island may be viewed from several locations in Rockport and from the Bass Rocks (Atlantic Road) in Gloucester. The Thacher Island Association provides boat service to the island for members of the Association. Kayaking is another popular way to visit the island.

Eastern Point Shows Sign of Spring and Mayhem
I went for a walk out Eastern Point today with my friend Melissa. Along the way we saw a definite sign of spring – these crocus, jonquils, daffodils (? – not sure which they are, what do you say Kim?) popping their shoots out of the snow, then melting ice on Niles Pond with a flock of gulls looking like a crowd at water’s edge on the beach on a hot summer day. Then we got to the lighthouse and encountered these unexpected wild waves crashing over the Dog Bar and out behind the lighthouse. Finally, some of the damage left behind by Nemo to the back of the garage at the lighthouse. Had a very nice visit with Emma Jane, who together with her husband and dog, have enjoyed (not so much) a wild winter so far living at the lighthouse. Hi Emma, I know you read GMG, so thanks for allowing us to shoot, and shoot the breeze, very nice to meet you.
