Kick the family out and join The Gloucester Beatles, the singing  Baird Bros. to dance the night away, singing along to songs you haven’t heard for decades but you know every word to them. Songs that no other band will dare play, but wish they could. Eat, drink and be merry at Dog Bar, Gloucester’s rock’n’roll livingroom – the former White Rainbow –  it’s nothing but fun. News From Rockport Music! Second Paula Cole Concert Added

Greetings, Joey:

Thank you for mentioning that single tickets were going on sale for Rockport Music’s season.  Our offices was flooded with requests to purchase tickets!

Here’s some information that I’d like to share with you….

Rockport Music, presenter of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, is experiencing unprecedented demand for tickets to its inaugural season in the Shalin Liu Performance Center, which opens on June 10, 2010. Since tickets went on sale on March 15, nine of twenty-four concerts have sold out.

Rockport Music is pleased to announce that it has added a second performance for the Rockport appearances of Grammy Award-winning singer Paula Cole. The new date is Friday, August 6, at 8 p.m. at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, located at 37 Main Street in downtown Rockport, Massachusetts. The first performance, Saturday, August 7 at 8 p.m. sold out two weeks ago. In the intervening days, Rockport Music received many phone calls from local residents and fans of Paula Cole, who were very disappointed to discover that the concert was sold out. States Rockport Music Director of Marketing Gregg Sorensen, “Paula Cole is a real treasure, not only for local residents, but for countless fans around the globe. Rockport Music is grateful to Ms. Cole for finding time in her very busy schedule to add an additional concert during the inaugural season of our new home, the Shalin Liu Performance Center. It’s with great anticipation that we await her performances in August.”

Rockport Music’s first season in the Shalin Liu Performance Center begins on June 10. The organization’s signature series, the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, includes 20 classical chamber music concerts from June 10-July 18. The newest series, Rockport Music Presents, features five jazz, world-music, and pop concerts from July 24 – August 8. During the summer, Rockport Music also offers a number of special events to enhance the audience’s concert experience. Those include prelude suppers, lectures, master classes, a DVD/lecture, and two free Family Concerts.

The Latest From The Docksiders- Performance at The Hard Rock Oahu, HI

Thanks to Leah Lovasco and the band for the current updates!

After a low key day spent at the beach and/or shopping, the Docksiders performed at the Hard Rock Cafe where they literally “rocked the house”.  The manager stated that this band is “up there with the likes of some famous bands” that has played there in the past.  While performing, even the kitchen staff was dancing.  The bartender was so in awe of guitarist Jeremiah Sweet that he stopped what he was doing to really listen and watch.  All of the Hard Rock employees were very impressed and we heard many times that this was “one of the best bands” they have heard.

Gloucester Battle Of The Bands Fri and Saturday April 9th and 10th

City leaders, concerned musicians and the Gloucester Fishermen’s Athletic Assoc. have banded together to create a Battle of the Bands Weekend, Fri & Sat. April 9 & 10 at Gloucester High School Auditorium to raise money to help school sports and rebuild the crumbling bleachers at Newell Stadium so that football and other games can be played. Both events begin at 8 pm and feature the city’s top musical talent.

The Friday show is oriented more to younger bands and emcee’d by football record setter Connor Ressel, while the Sat. tilt features the cream of 7 area bands, headlined by Fly Amero, Allen Estes, Willie Alexander, The Tide and is emcee’d by the spectacular Linda Amero. Tickets are $10 for Friday and $20 for Saturday and 100% of the proceeds will go to save Gloucester sports, the stadium and cut sports fee’s for student athletes.

All parties are citizens committed to solving an immediate problem without waiting around for a cash strapped local government that can’t bail them out. For more info, email gordon@rampartsfarm.com
