Taping of Bacala Video with Felicia and Sefatia Part 1 From Gianni Gallo and Joe Langhan

Gianni and Joe are the men behind the Taste of The Times Videos at the Gloucester Daily Times Website- this is from them-

Felicia and Sefatia (“the Godmother”) got together to tape a segment on how Felicia’s Grandmother taught her to make a special bacala dish for the traditional Italian meal of the seven fishes on Christmas Eve. This is the first of three parts of the original footage. The entire shoot lasted over 45 minutes, which was edited down to a 10 minute video. (You can see that video at http://food.gloucestertimes.com/video/Baccala-Italian-Style-Codfish.html) Some have asked to see the entire production, with little or no editing. Here is Part 1.

Define Value: Passports Wine Dinner

My Lord That was great

4 glasses of wine and four courses for $40 bucks or so.

Toby Pett says-

Eric and his crew definitely "hit it out of the park" Thursday night…As Chili mentioned to me that in Boston, the quality of food, paired with the wines that he brought would be $ 100.00 per person, and I am sure that he is right…there is no place in Gloucester that offers that kind of deal for the money…it should be sold out every month

Congratulations Dean Salah On Your Tenth Year As Owner of George’s Coffee Shop! May There Be Many More To Come!!!!

Dean had no idea that his staff went in and decorated the joint in the middle of the night to surprise him as he thought that no one even knew it was his tenth year anniversary of when the keys were handed to him.

There’s a big time camaraderie in there with everyone who works, they obviously adore the leader of the pack, Dean and the way he runs the place with a warm smile and respect and a kind word for everyone.  One of Gloucester’s finest he is!

Maime’s Kitchen Glosta Coffee Roll Bra From Cliff McCarthy

coffee roll bra

Hi Joey,

After viewing the post showing  one of Laura Jacobs nautical-themed bras,

I got to thinking about one of your past posts.

STRAIGHT SEXY ! You wrote about a coffee roll.

Hummm, maybe Joey has something here.

So, Hot off the Grill I present the Glosta Coffee Roll Bra.

Much more comfortable than any lobster/crab shell bra.

Enjoy your breakfast,

   Cliff McCarthy

Causeway Fish Chowder

To call a bowl of Causeway Fish Chowder simply a bowl of fish chowder is leaving out the fact that the amount of fish in the Causeway’s Fish Chowder is the amount of fish that you would normally find in three bowls of fish chowder at most other joints.

You might think that allowing such a generous portion of fish that they use some inferior product  but after handling millions of pounds of fish in my lifetime I can assure you I know fish and the fish used in this chowder is as fresh as you can get.

I don’t get over to the Causeway for three seasons of the year because we are just too busy here at the dock and it’s on the other side of town.  The place is generally mobbed with people who travel from all over the northeast who have read the rave reviews on websites like yelp and trip advisor so this is the perfect time to go there when the touristas aren’t out in full force and you can get a table.

insider tip- skip lunch and go around 3 in the afternoon.

Straight Sexy! Alicia’s Coffee Rolls On The Grill At Mamie’s Kitchen

I’ve got serious wood just looking at this picture.  Is that wrong?

IMAG0827

Who does this?

An actual picture of the muffin remnants left behind. Someone actually picked away at this muffin over time and left the rest in the same spot as if someone else was gonna go and eat it after.

See, if the person had taken the muffin to where they were sitting and proceeded to pick away at the muffin top leaving the bottom behind I wouldn’t have thought twice.

But the fact was that the muffin remained in the exact space where all the muffins were left out for all to enjoy and then little by little and very discreetly the muffin top was dissected and the rest left behind with the other muffins as if someone else would then look at that half eaten muffin and then said to themselves” hmm, I think I’ll go for the muffin that looks like it’s been attacked by a herd of unruly rats.”

and then, to top it all off the offender was the most unlikely and refined out of the entire group of GMG contributors.
