I built it for them when they asked.  Hope you like it.

Probably the most useful thing on there is the pictures of food which weren’t prepared special for the website, they were just photos of dishes they made for customers while I was there.  Allso the menu with prices on it gives you an idea of just how affordable it is.

Last time there Dee Noble was there with 3 kids and the whole bill for sit down lunch was $20 and change.  Seriously?  How do you beat that?

While at Mamie’s Kitchen yesterday for breakfast we were stopped by fans of GMG who had travelled up from Connecticut to go to Mamie’s Kitchen based on my recommendation.  I was heading for the can and these three lovely ladies stopped me and asked ‘Are you Joey?”  After replying yes, they told me how they loved the blog and were at mamie’s because of me.  Sweet!  I lost the piece of paper with their names on it Sad smile

Rick Doucette previews the third Y TEENS REBUILD NEW ORLEANS April Vacation trip and the benefit to raise money for that trip featuring Grammy-winner Charles Neville with Henri Smith New Orleans Friends & Flavours on Tuesday 2/21 (Mardi Gras) at Latitude 43 and Minglewood Tavern.

Duck Leg Confit at Duckworth’s Bistrot

Even the Rubber Duck thought the Duck Leg Confit with a waffle looked yummy. It was.

A quick tip: reservations at Duckworth’s Bistrot are hard to come by. I have a hard time thinking two weeks ahead of time. But the 4-4:30PM slot on Saturday can be nabbed even  only a day in advance if you’re lucky. Just have an early brunch then aim to be hungry by 4.

Another tip: the kids can have dessert but the adults can have the Espresso Martini, both pictured below. (Then you have the rest of the evening and you’re wide awake!)

Yes, those are two right hands. I guess the adults can have just a wee bite.

Stuff We Love- Breville Juice Fountain Compact Fruit and Vegetable Juicer BJE200XL

When the Mrs and I went to Playa del Carmen one thing that we really loved was that for breakfast and every 30 yards of so there was a joint that sold fresh juiced juices. It was invigorating and a great alternative to the three cups of coffee way I normally would start my days.

The Mrs got us a Breville Juice Fountain Juicer and we’ve been using it daily. I’m not one to eat an apple or orange in the middle of the day so this has been a way to get a bunch of fruit into my system and the drinks are delicious!

Felicia and Sefatia (“the Godmother”) got together to tape a segment on how Felicia’s Grandmother taught her to make a special bacala dish for the traditional Italian meal of the seven fishes on Christmas Eve. This is the third of three parts of the original footage. The entire shoot lasted over 45 minutes, which was edited down to a 10 minute video. Minglewood Tavern Again Open For Lunch Everyday

If you were like me and jonesing for one of Gloucester’s best burgers at lunch for the past couple of months and gone by Minglewood only to have found tehm closed for lunch fear not my friends!

They are now re-opened and serving up one of Gloucester’s best burgers and killer hand cut steak fries.
