Classic- Sen Kerry’s Website Shows A Salmon As The State Fish

Steve Garfield points out this serious gaffe on The Senator’s Website-

In the place where it shows the State Fish –The Codfish, they show a picture of a Salmon-

To be fair there are a million people that make mistakes like this on local menus and in local decor in Seafood Restaurants where they serve local fresh caught fish and adorn the places with pictures of tropical fish.  Anyone who knows me knows that this drives me nuts!

Here is one of my rantings on the subject from last year-

I should point out that I found out about the gaffe from Adam Gaffin- The Man Behind Universal Hub.  Boston’s Greatest Blog

Holland America’s Eurodam To Hit Gloucester Wednesday September 8th

Linn Parisi Alerts Us To The Latest Cruise Ship To Come To Port-

Hi Joey,
Good to chat with you this morning as always!
Thought readers would like to know that Holland America’s Eurodam will be in port
this Wednesday, September 8.
It will anchor in the outer harbor.
Passengers will be tendered to Cruise Port between 9AM and 6PM.
Carrying up to 2104 passengers and 929 crew, the Eurodam will be hard not to notice in the harbor.
Area retailers, restaurants and attractions will notice an uptick as passengers come ashore for shopping, sightseeing and seafood.
The Eurodam will also make port of call in Gloucester on September 24, September 28 and October 13.
I hope you take Labor Day off, Joey- you deserve it!

Should be quite a boost to our local merchants.
If any of our retailers or restaurant folks that read GMG notices a big impact could you send in a report?

Jo-Ann Castano Would Like Us To Check Out The Work Of Stevens Brosnihan

Jo-Ann writes-

Hi Joey,  Getting more and more feedback on people loving GMG!  I just repost

from your site to fb.  Works well for me, thanks.  This is one of the posting on my fb you

may not have received and might be interested in.  Gloucester fine artist, Stevens, is a wonderful

fun guy and the Cape Ann Museum’s use of the White-Ellery House to host one day installations

of artists has been a fantastic opportunity.  Think you would enjoy Stevens and

I was interested in that he says here he has processed photographs with coffee.  Not sure

if he’s under the influence of caffein or actually processing film with coffee.  Either way,

I’m sure he’s captured the historical time and essence of the White-Ellery House in

a unique way.  Best to you today Joey… keep that news flying like the gulls.

I added these new sharing options (cuz I’m always trying to optimize your user experience here at GMG).

I’ve tested them out and they work the nuts!

If you have facebook, you can share a post by clicking on the facebook icon below each post.

If you use twitter you can re-tweet the url to a post you find interesting by clicking on the Tweet button below each post.

If you want to email a post you can click on the email button below each post to email it to a friend or family member.

Lastly if you want to print out a post you can click on the print icon below each post.  I’m thinking that last one would be pretty handy for printing out one of the recipes or picture that you might like or an event listing so you can stick it up on your fridge!

I’d appreciate if you each try them out and let me know if you have any problems.

The August 24th "East VS. West" episode will feature Melissa Busfield from Gloucester, MA competing against Erica Sanchez from Orinda, CA for the million-dollar prize!

On August 24, it’s East vs. West as girls from opposite coasts compete for the grand prize. Their first challenge is the game Paper Dragon, in which they must unspool two rolls of party streamers using only their hands and arms.
