13th Green Correction [Motel Roof]

GMG subscriber from Indiana indicated it was not the 13th Green but the 3rd green.

To keep up the high standards of GoodMorningGloucester, please accept my apologies.   Play slideshow

I am including a slide show with additional photos.  Tracey the owner even had insurance adjusters waiting to help her get things back in shape for the summer season.  All the rooms were checked to ensure no further damage occurred.  The major issue was the rubber roof aloft onto the gold course.  The air-conditioners were in bad shape on the roof.  I am also including some photos from trees that came down further down on Atlantic Rd.  Hopefully everyone is back on-line with electricity, and ready for the next burst of weather coming our way.

Bass Rock’s Motel Roof ends up on 13th Green

Part of the Roof blew off in Thursday’s storm, and also up-rooted a tree on the 13th green at Bass Rocks Golf Course.  Some Golfers were happy the tree is gone, but Tracey the owner of the motel was not thrilled about the roof.   Click on photos to enlarge.

Rockport Art Association 1960s Summer Dances

I was recently at the Rockport Art Association for the seARTS annual meeting.

As I headed back to the Art building in the back, old memories passed through my head.

Even though it was cold and rainy, the memories of warm summer nights, heading down to Rockport, to attend the RAA dances.   Back then it was a great opportunity for locals to meet kids from out-of-state, who were vacationing with their parents.  Some of those memories are another story.

It was amazing that they trusted us in the beautiful surroundings of all that art.

This video clip shows some of the local art today, recommend going down and taking a look, and a clip of how teenagers danced in the 60’s.  If you recognize yourself in the video, you may want to keep it to yourself at least that is my intention.

Enjoy a blast from the past.

This video, features:

  • Contagious Laughter
  • Wardrobe Malfunction [Edited for GMG]

Joey Ciaramitaro conducted three interviews for GoodMorningGloucester, these are snippets from those interviews.  The purpose was just to take some basic photographs and video to document the event.

Joey did a great job with the interviews as always, but for me the off camera stuff was the most fun.
