Broadway Returns To Hammond Castle Museum!

Join us as Hello Friends Productions premiers Once Upon A Time, an original review of beloved Broadway show tunes and popular songs that capture our imaginations. The first half features great music from shows such as Sunset Boulevard, Man of La Mancha, Legally Blonde, Shrek the musical, Hadestown and Finding Neverland. And in the second half, get ready as they present a modern day retelling of the classic fairytale, Cinderella told with popular hits from the 50’s through today. Starring Bobby Kerrigan, Kelly Murphy, Thom Smoker, April Foley, Becky Penner Ruccio, Crystal VanArtsdalen, Tom Edmonds, Andrew Hankinson and Sean Murphy. Congratulations To Kim Smith “Beauty on the Wing wins Best Documentary!”

Dear Friends,
I am delighted (and very surprised) to share that Beauty on the Wing has won Best Documentary at the San Diego International Children’s Film Festival. I write surprised as there were many beautiful films from around the world participating in the festival, and also because I wasn’t even aware we had been nominated for the award. My sincerest thanks and gratitude to SDIKFF!
Yesterday there were a number of Monarchs out on Eastern Point nectaring at wildflowers and in my garden. It was magical that we learned of the award on the same day as seeing these stragglers. We were celebrating Dia de Muertos here on Plum Street, and on this very same day, November 2nd, Monarchs were spotted arriving at Cerro Pelon and El Rosario Monarch Butterfly sanctuaries. Joel Moreno and his family at Cerro Pelon JM Butterfly BandB spotted the Monarchs traveling high in the sky in the upper thermals while my friend David Hernandez reports that at El Rosario, they are flying low on the mountain.

Daylight Saving Time Ends

REMINDER! This weekend is THE END OF DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME. That means when we go to bed TONIGHT we need to turn the clocks back one hour. 

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 6th at 2:00 AM. This means the clocks need to move backwards 1 hour, 2:00 AM will change to 1:00 AM.

This is also a great time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and to make sure they are in working order.
