Problem solved…

I had a sealed smoke detector that went off in low battery mode in the middle of the night. Took it down, wrapped it in a towel & went out outside and smashed it to smithereens with a hammer. Problem solved.

Why not just change the battery? Or remove the old one until you had a new one?
