Patty Hecht’s Tomahawk Ribeye Steak with Bacon, Mushroom & Cream Sauce Video

Hi Joey, Patty Hecht here. I have a new venture I think might be of interest to you. My recipe video yesterday, Tomahawk Ribeye Steak with Bacon, Mushroom & Cream Sauce made me think of you. There are altered instructions for searing the steak on the outdoor grill. Enjoy and hope you and your family are well!!!

Lunch at the Seaport Grille

Oh my word….the Lobster and Avocado BLT at the Seaport Grille was amazing! The fried clams and steak tips didn’t look so bad either! Check out their website and menu here: https://seaportgrillegloucester.com/

You can find the Seaport Grille at 6 Rowe Square in Gloucester at the Cruiseport and right off of Main Street.

Of note is that the delicious lobster comes right from Capt. Joe and Sons!

RAZE’ the Roof Cabaret!

A Fundraiser to benefit the Annsiquam Village Hall Roof Restoration

The Annisquam Village Hall is a building that is extremely near and dear to all of us- it is the Heart of our Community.  Since its construction in about 1828, the hall has watched the tide come and go nearly 140,000 times. It has witnessed six or more generations grow up nearby. It has hosted joy and sorrow, weddings, funerals, dances, political rallies, solemn and serious lectures, lighthearted frivolity, theater, and more. It has sheltered a sail loft, multiple stores, our local post office, our library, the Leonard Club, and other social organizations now lost to memory. Its owners have altered it, enlarged it, changed some of its windows and many of its doors. It is always just there, sort of like Squam Rock. After serving the village for nearly 200 years, it needs some help from the village.

Join us on Saturday, February 27, 7pm, as your friends and neighbors attempt to make you smile, laugh- maybe even cry (or roll your eyes)!  You will certainly see some familiar faces!

The suggested Donation for the event is $20, with Sponsorships available and Contributions most Welcome!  You will access the show on YouTube- more information available when you register on our website.
Please remember that all monies collected from the Cabaret, will go to the reconstruction fund for the roof of the Annisquam Village Hall.

I hope you will consider supporting us as we support the Annisquam Village Hall!  The Village Hall is our Village Home- Under this roof we build Community.

Thank you!

Jalapenos For Dinner!

We had not stopped at Jalapenos on Main Street in quite a while and when I saw the advertisement that Margarita Day is today Feb 22, I knew (for the sake of our loyal readers) that I needed to “preview” their margaritas!!! My usual go-to at Jalapenos is the frozen raspberry margarita, but it was just too cold for me to order that so I went with cranberry. Served in a GIANT glass. Jim had chicken flautas and I had a steak fajita. The food was delicious and efficiently served by masked waitstaff. Tables are separated appropriately and all precautions we have come to expect are in effect. There were lots of take out orders being prepared. It was a lovely relaxed evening with friendly staff and we won’t wait so long to return this time.

We HAD a hyper-anxious Dog! Not anymore…!

“Dexter was frantic. He was bouncing between my lap and my husband’s lap. He clawed at the floor – he was trying to get under the dashboard,” Dee explained.

Dee, her husband, their three-year-old and poor Dexter were on what should have been a seven-hour trip to Vermont to have Thanksgiving with family. Dexter was so upset that it had taken eleven hours to complete the first three hours of driving.

“We finally gave up and went back to New Jersey and had Thanksgiving with our neighbors.”

Dee doesn’t know why these panic attacks started when Dexter was seven years old. He was fine on a five-day drive to Oregon a couple of years before, but now Dexter constantly panted and drooled when riding in the car.

He also started getting so anxious during thunderstorms that he would scratch the walls and make so much noise that it would wake…

As a lifelong resident of the North Shore, I love all that our area has to offer. Growing up in Hamilton, I enjoyed living in a small cul-de-sac neighborhood where seeing horseback riders in the woods of my back yard was a common occurrence.

Soon after graduating college, I began my career in travel as Sales Manager for Unique Vacations Inc., Worldwide Representatives of Sandals and Beaches Resorts where I was named Sales Manager of the Year for the Northeast Region. As my love for travel developed, I decided to continue my career as the Regional Director of Sales for AIC Hotel Group representing resorts in the all-inclusive and luxury market. The best part about working in travel is connecting individuals and families with their dream vacation. In real estate, I will continue to make dreams come true by matching you with your dream home.

I currently live in Gloucester with my husband Joey Ciaramitaro of Good Morning Gloucester, my son and step-daughters. Gloucester provides its residents with not only the serenity of the ocean but with diverse restaurants, small shops and a magnitude of history. My favorite part about living in Gloucester is jumping on our boat, cruising down the Annisquam River and ending the evening by boat at any one of our favorite restaurants.  Gloucester is truly a magical place to live.  I look forward to welcoming you here.

Back Stage at the Superbowl

Imagine being in college on 2007 and being asked to volunteer for an event helping build a stage.

Now fast forward to 14 years later and that first event you volunteered for has been listed as one of the “Greatest Super Bowl Halftime Performances of All Time” and you were part of it and witnessed it from backstage.

That is only the beginning of the story of our guest this week Lamarr Rollins! BSide and Lamarr have known each other for 10 years this month and she has been trying for 4 years to get him to come on the show, IT FINALLY HAPPENED!

Come take a journey with Bside and Lamarr on what it is like to be part of the Super Bowl halftime show, how to juggle a full time architect job and how to pull off a Halftime show in a Pandemic. Also Lamarr asks some of B’s burning questions she’s had over the years and expresses her loathing for Maroon 5.

Stick through some the rants as Lamarr drops behind the scene knowledge on us as well as talking about the family he’s come to know volunteering every year and how they are doing in the Pandemic era.

Free Streaming Nia and Restorative Yoga Classes via Zoom with Linda for the Week of Feb. 22th Last week for Disney Songs routine . Restorative Yoga Mon. and Wed. 5 PM

niawithlinda's avatarCape Ann Wellness

We’ll do the Disney routine for one more week per requests from a number of students.  Next week we will revisit our Blusey Country routine.

This Disney routine focuses on the hands and feet. The body parts we take the most for granted, until they are painful.

So join us and we’ll have fun singing and dancing to Disney Songs. Here’s a sneak preview of one of my favorite finds, an a cappella version of“I Wanna Be Like You”from the Jungle Book sung by DCappella.

For Restorative Yoga, find some cushions, large books, yoga blocks, blankets, whatever you can use instead of bolsters and blocks. We make it work. For more information on Restorative yoga, check out my site, niawithlinda.com. It is a lovely passive practice that gives the participant relaxation and calm. Who couldn’t use that right now.

If you are new to Nia and Restorative Yoga with…
