Please help local artists and Maritime Gloucester by doing some shopping with us every Sat and Sunday in December! Maritime Gloucester and a group of local artists have combined to help each other and to supply you with a beautiful selection of affordable gifts. From cards to mugs to coasters to puzzles to soap to pottery to stained glass to small paintings. We have every you could need for that special gift.

Following the exceptional success of last year’s inaugural exhibition, this December the Rockport Art Association & Museum will again be holding an exhibition of national scope and proportions! The RAA&M National 2020 is an open invitational for artists across the United States to exhibit artwork crafted in a diverse number of media (drawing, mixed media, collage, photography, painting, digital art and sculpture) here at the Rockport Art Association & Museum. It is an opportunity to show artwork that reveals the diversity of the Creative Community around us here on Cape Ann, and an occasion to introduce new artistic influences from beyond this region to artists and the public alike.
With the extremely generous and selfless support of public institutions and private individuals over $5,000 in prize money is to be awarded for superlative works in the categories of drawing, mixed media, collage, photography, painting, digital art and sculpture. The Institution for Savings is sponsoring the show itself, while several private individuals and public institutions likeBankGloucester have elected to sponsor prizes.
Our two judges are the nationally-recognized and Cindy House (www.cindyhouse.com) for the category of traditional art, and the holder of Gordon College’s Lothlórien Distinguished Chair in the art department, Professor Bruce Herman in the category of contemporary art (www.bruceherman.com.) Through a juried selection process the artwork is judged, with winning pieces being awarded monetary prizes ranging from $250. to $1,000. apiece.

Do you want to put solar on your house and make money?
Fill out the form or email me at goodmorninggloucester@yahoo.com and I’ll have lifelong Gloucester resident Tim Sanborn from Cazeault Solar call you to go over your options for free.
A while back we made the decision to have solar installed on our house. As we any project, had gotten several quotes. After reviewing all of the quotes we decided to go with the local company here in Gloucester, Cazeault solar. Although we had some bumps in the road, I’m so glad we chose Tim and his team. We were having some issues with getting our monthly SMART payments. After speaking with Tim, he stood by his customers and helped us get through the problem and get us our payments.
A sincere Thank you to Tim for standing by his customers and helping. He and his team have always been incredibly helpful and professional. We are so glad we decided to go with a local business.

Jones River salt marsh….

Would your dentist clean it for you?

Poor turkeys. “Something’s Up. The farmer just unfriended me on Facebook.”

This made me smile. Thanks, Mom’s Kitchen! Your decorations brightened my day.

We returned to Seaport Grille recently and had another marvelous experience. Honestly, we waited until many of the visitors had left the island so we could enjoy a quieter evening meal at one of our favorite places. All COVID protocols are in place and strictly followed. I had the delicious French Onion soup and filet mignon with béarnaise sauce that I had been craving. Jim tried one of the cod specials with crabmeat and heirloom tomato sauce. He enjoyed that very much! I always try to finish my Seaport Grille meal with a Seaport coffee. Jim ordered cheesecake. The atmosphere was enhanced with the fairy lights on the enclosed (toasty) deck. We left full and very happy with our choice! Make your reservations on Open Table, easy peasy: link here.
