GLOUCESTER, MA – Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken today announced that 2020 beach parking stickers will be required for resident access into Stage Fort Park and beach lots as of Saturday, August 1.
Since the beginning of the season, and through July 31, resident parking has been available with a 2019 beach parking sticker or license and motor vehicle registration showing a Gloucester address.
Beach sticker applications are available for download on the City’s website by clicking on the “Beach Info” link on the home page and then “Beach Sticker Application.” Applications are also available outside the Warren Street entrance at Gloucester City Hall.
Completed applications should be mailed to Gloucester City Hall, PO Box 61, Gloucester, MA 01931 or deposited in one of the drop boxes at the Warren Street entrance at Gloucester City Hall.
Beach parking stickers will not be available for same day purchase. However, stickers are now available for in-person pick-up by 2 p.m. the next afternoon. Residents who prefer next day pick up must note that on their application. Applications received with no note will be processed and the beach parking sticker will be mailed out.
Applicants are encouraged to read the instructions carefully and be sure to include all supporting documentation. Any missing documentation could result in delay of processing. Any questions regarding sticker eligibility or application status can be made by emailing bsticker@gloucester-ma.gov or calling 978-281-9708. All sticker purchases are final. No refunds will be issued.
The clouds and sun made for a beautiful late afternoon beach day.
Grateful I can go to the beach everyday.

After many years after the fire at Tony Pizza on Fuller Street, the construction has started. It will look great when finished.
Couldn’t help but notice this beauty docked at the Paint Factory.

Beach parking this weekend in Gloucester will be open to the public at Stage Fort Park and residents plus a limited number of non residents at Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek. Parking rates and sticker policies remain in effect, though 2019 Gloucester beach stickers will be honored only through the end of July.
Parking restrictions for the upcoming weekends will be announced on the prior Wednesday. Updates will also be posted on Gloucester Beaches.
Quiet fog at Good Harbor recently:
Another encouraging sign is that the Gloucester Visitors Center at Stage Fort Park is set to reopen this week. This follows reconstruction of the porch/deck that was recently completed. Boy, it’s gorgeous! Wonderful job. Take a walk up there just to admire the view! Center open Thursday through Monday 9-3. Stop by and say hi to the volunteers. Safety protocols in place right alongside local information. Special shout out to Carol Mondello for her efforts to get the place ready and safe for use!!
Over the past several weeks the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce has welcomed many new businesses to the Cape Ann business community. CVS Pharmacy’s new location at Gloucester Crossing, Cleod Glassworks and Sea & Cellar in Rockport, Shackteau Interiors in Magnolia, and just last week we welcomed Happy Valley to Blackburn Center with a ribbon cutting at their grand opening. With more businesses opening on Cape Ann in the coming weeks, we could not be prouder of the perseverance our community has shown. We look forward to working together as a community and ensure that Cape Ann and our broader North Shore neighbors rebuild and emerge even stronger.
