Zeus is a “Texas Tower” rig that was involved with extension of Gloucester’s sewer outfall pipe offshore around 1990. Before that, the treatment plant dumped directly into harbor, through the notorious “bubbler.” Here are a few of my photos from 1989-1991.

I remember Zeus. My husband was in the Coast Guard stationed in Gloucester. He was called away from the Station’s Christmas party. I’m sure he and his crew members sobered up right quick. I found your post when looking up information about how long Zeus burned for. Yours is the only information I can find on Google. That’s strange. If you know of a link, or even have more information, it would be appreciated.
