Lantern Light at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center

Come have a cuppa tea and hear Lantern Light perform seasonal melodies on December 8, 2-4 at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center!

The acoustic quartet, “Lantern Light” performs a blend of folk, bluegrass, Celtic, Americana, roots and original music. Their relaxed style, varied instrumentation, and beautiful harmonies showcase their obvious love for the music they play. They draw from a deep well of songs from the familiar to unique and lesser known treasures. Lantern Light has performed at coffeehouses, house concerts, benefits, farmer’s markets, church services, and more!  Combining many years of performance, Lantern Light includes Marie Duprey (whistles, vocals) Michael Ross (guitar, vocals) Gail Wiegner (guitar, mandolin, vocals) Allen Wiegner (bass, vocals).

Partners on the Harbor

Some of Gloucester’s boats docked in the harbor. As I was reviewing the pictures, I realized the common theme was Cape Pond Ice in the background. I thought it was pretty significant because I believe Cape Pond Ice supports the fishermen and the community in many ways, often in the background. Here’s to our fishermen and Cape Pond Ice!

Maritime Gloucester all lit up for DECK THE DOCKS night #1!

Cape Ann Community

MG Christmas lights

The first night of Deck the Docks was a great beginning to our event!

Special thanks to Captain Stefan Edick for capturing and sharing the campus lights from the Fitz Henry Lane house!  Our pier is all decked out for holiday cheer.

The gallery saw the opening night of “Deck Your Walls Art Show” with some great works by local and regional artists.  Over 141 pieces are in this show and each one of them is for sale!  You will not want to miss seeing the Schooner Gallery all decked out for this show.

AND WE ARE JUST GETTINGSTARTED!  Trees, wreaths, art, crafts, gifts, good friends and a lot of fun are all in store for the next 2 days!  Get your tree or wreath any time Friday, Saturday or Sunday — while supplies last!  Take a picture with Santa from 11 to 1 on Saturday.
