The Paint! Paint! Paint! exhibition at the Cultural Center Studio Gallery features a collection of more than 20 recent paintings in oil of recognizable Rocky Neck locations by resident artist, Stephen LaPierre. Following in the traditions of the many well-known artists who preceded him, from Milton Avery to Edward Hopper and many others, LaPierre recently was seen in the streets and byways of “the Neck” at all times of day, and even night, at his easel to capture the light and mood of the scene before him in paint.

A photographic story for the young at heart, Finding Lilliput, is a little book about a tiny pig named Percy, who longs for small friends just like him.  When he learns about the land of Lilliput, he sets out in a miniature boat to find it. The book, written for children and adults, follows Percy’s adventures in his discovery of Lilliput. The Square Circle Gallery in Rockport is holding a booksigning and reception for the book this Saturday, Oct. 20 from 1 to 4 pm. In addition to a collection of miniature pig photos, the gallery is showing several of Judy’s new rock assemblages.
