The Paint! Paint! Paint! exhibition at the Cultural Center Studio Gallery features a collection of more than 20 recent paintings in oil of recognizable Rocky Neck locations by resident artist, Stephen LaPierre. Following in the traditions of the many well-known artists who preceded him, from Milton Avery to Edward Hopper and many others, LaPierre recently was seen in the streets and byways of “the Neck” at all times of day, and even night, at his easel to capture the light and mood of the scene before him in paint.

Paint! Paint! Paint! is being held in the Cultural Center Studio Gallery in the same time period, October 18 through November 18, 2018, as LANDFALL, the Montserrat College of Art exhibit on view on the upper level Cultural Center Gallery.
The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening receptions for both exhibits on Saturday, October 20, 4:00–6:00 PM at the Cultural Center galleries at 6 Wonson St, Gloucester, MA. The building is handicap accessible with gallery hours Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 PM each week.

When he learns about the land of Lilliput, he sets out in a miniature boat to find it. The book, written for children and adults, follows Percy’s adventures in his discovery of Lilliput. The Square Circle Gallery in Rockport is holding a booksigning and reception for the book this Saturday, Oct. 20 from 1 to 4 pm. In addition to a collection of miniature pig photos, the gallery is showing several of Judy’s new rock assemblages.
