    1. Very nice and I really like what you said about your role model “Grandmother.” Feel the same way about my “Grandmother” (the foundation I talk of often)! Happy Thanksgiving to you and family! 🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂

      1. Sorry for delayed reply Dave and Kim. Seems we have more things alike than we know. I just saw the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit and was struck by the some of the similarities between her and my grandmother. They lived through the same era; both strong ladies who love simplicity and the land. Georgia was much more worldly though; my grandmother rarely left the farm. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Enjoy a healthy and happy holiday season!

  1. Thank you for sharing. I think we all need to remember to adopt an attitude of gratitude in our lives. We get so caught up in things, that we forget to stop & be grateful.

Last Sat, the Cape Ann Y had an activity for anyone who wanted to join in. It was called ‘Gratitude Rocks’. Folks were invited to paint a ‘gratitude’ rock for whatever or whomever they were thankful for. The event was attended by children & adults, all happily painting their own ‘thanks’ on local Gloucester rocks. These little treasures are to be placed around the community & are free to the finder.
Some folks asked to take them home. Others left them for distribution in the Gloucester community.

It was lovely to see people expressing their gratitude in a fun way. As one mom with 3 sons (in tow) said, ‘This is the 1st thing I’ve done for myself all day.’ She painted an ocean scene on her rock, expressing thanks for the beauty we get all to enjoy here.

Be grateful — & remember to check for ‘gratitude’ rocks around town. Or, maybe take a bit of time for yourself or with your family, & paint a gratitude rock yourself. You’ll smile!
