Schools delayed 2 hours. In walking distance — Scattered power

outages by Long Beach Dairy Maid, tree sized limbs felled, roof tiles scattered, leaf debris, blown deck chairs carried to roads

  1. I have been looking at the city school web site and the city government web site for the past hour and have not seen any notification about this. I have also tried calling the school superintendents office, and the main number does not seem to work (it rings once and disconnects). Nothing on the school Facebook page. Apparently, at least one Boston media outlet knows of this. Can someone tell me where the notifications are for this sort of thing?

    1. We don’t have power, wifi; my cell phone is ok as long as battery is charged. School families sign up for all call alerts– today Dr. Safier’s msg.came at 5:30
