  1. I was in the Candlelight Inn (Scarsdale, NY), at the bar with my bride-to-be (and still wife), watching the NY Knicks vs Houston Rockets, in a rare Knicks appearance in the NBA Finals, and a rarer Knicks lead, when ABC news anchor Peter Jennings cut in with the breaking news, and hours of ensuing live coverage. The place went nuts. There was a loud consensus that the cops should just blow the Bronco up so we could get back to the game, and spare the country from what we all seemed to know was going to be a sham carriage of justice.

  2. I was living in Jamaica at that time, and while Jamaicans in general didn’t follow what went on in America (why would they?) everyone followed this, all the way through the trial. It was kind of surreal, to have this be the only thing I was aware of going on in the US.
