Tomorrow morning (as it was this morning) look east about an hour before dawn. Venus is dazzling next to the crescent moon and a little below Venus is Jupiter. Our astronomy friends will have to confirm, but I think you can see Mars, too. Go have a look for your self because these photos don’t adequately show how beautiful!

Stunning! Jupiter aligned with Mars–the Age of Aquarius?

Googled Age of Aquarius and it is a little confusing; will have to spend more time with that one!

HI Kim, Do you use a tripod?

Anita, I TRIED to use my tripod, but after fumbling around in the dark for 15 minutes and all the while the planets were losing their brightness, I ditched it and just held stock still while opening the aperture fully and setting the camera on a high ISO.

Thank you for the camera tip. I played with the ISO. It made such a difference. Next the aperture .

The top photo has a real space travel feel to it.Perhaps that’s because I just saw The Martian. Highly recommended.
You have very steady hands. The photos are remarkable for handheld efforts.

Thank you Marty for noticing that, was trying for a celestial feeling. We are dying to see Martian, thank you for the recommendation! And thank you soooo much for loaning me your camera body. So very much appreciated.

These are wonderful. I’ll admit I thought about getting up this morning to look, after your post yesterday. But, alas, I stayed in bed for that extra hour. Thank you for sharing. I will try again tomorrow morning…
