Hello, I am listening to the podcast and I have to say, I never knew how loved and admired Fred was.
I am glad I had this opportunity to find out just what Fred was all about. He was a loved individual a respected man, one with a big heart and one that loved each and every one of you and the wonderful town he had lived in.
Thank you for this, podcast, and for all the love you all have given to him. I wish I had known him as you all have. All my love, Jennifer Burke, Maryland, 1st cousin, grew up on LI together😰
That was a beautiful tribute to dear Fred. Thank you for sharing it and making me feel like I was there, I’m home sick and wish I could have gone and shared some fun stories that I have about Fred, but suffice it to say they sound a lot like many of the stories shared today. My first thought was I’ll bring a batch of Bloody Mary’s if I feel better! I will miss Fred and his kindness and humour and generosity and his store, too. It was so fun to go in and have him help me pick out the perfect present, searching through his negatives as I would describe the person and occasion that I was buying for. I truly hope someone can continue his life’s work. My heart goes all to Janet and Barbara and all of Fred’s close friends, clearly they number in the hundreds and even thousands from these stories and his many blog posts.
We’ll miss you Fred!! I live near him and thought it would feel empty and sad walking by his house on my walks. But it is just the opposite! I feel his wonderful spirit glowing brightly, without the heavy burden of illness to weigh him down. 💓
Great job GMG on this podcast it was an honor listening to your reflections and touching tribulations he lives on inside of us all and that can never been taken! Janet and family so sorry for your loss! God Bless you all!! Dave & Kim
