Thank you, Joe and Felicia, for your comments about hurtful posts. In addition to my own blog, I blog once a week for Best Selling Reads Blog. Like this blog, comments there are monitored–thank goodness. In this situation, a person I have known for decades, left a comment that mocked a character in one of my own books and then added “just teasing.” Had that comment been left on my own blog or on Facebook, I might have been less upset, but it was clear that he intended it to be a dig in a very public way. I emailed him and he said he was sorry but when I asked why he did it he did not reply. I appreciate your discussion of this topic because, as you say, we work really hard at these blogs and it is a cheap and hurtful thing for anyone to try to diminish our efforts.
