I think one of the reasons people come to Gloucester is to actually see an operating sea port. It becomes a “desitnation” spot for day for vacationers in general, and day trippers in particular. If all you want is beach, go to Wingaersheek or Good Harbor, but if you want more, head for the Inner Harbor!
