Joe’s table is so full of character and he’s so proud of it! It looks fantastic with the many thin coats of the marine industrial strength varnish. Super Job Chief!

I am pretty happy with it considering I have about $35 in to it including the table price and materials and this is how it looked like when I got it-

The table looks incredible Joey! Last saw it AM of 7/5/15 with only one coat.
(P.S. Great pic of Chief Joey C whoever took it!)

Looking forward to seeing it with five coats! Thank you Eric (the picture taker who forgot to water mark photo).

Just put on another coat. I’m just gonna keep adding til the can is gone. It’s easier and easier every coat. I can lightly sand it in 5 minutes, wipe it down in 2 minutes and apply a coat in ten minutes now.
Why wouldn’t I just keep adding, right?

You always take great pictures Kim! Regarding watermark – it happens. Just think if the lobster thing doesn’t work out for Joey at least we know he will not starve being a refinisher / varnisher.

I agree–Joey’s super creative and wears many hats!

Now go see Anthony Saputo! Get a piece of glass for easy clean up and preservation. Go to the Building Center and get (4) 3″ O-Rings. Place one towards each corner of the table and the glass will be rock solid in place. Trust me! ~Bouch
**** I use O-Rings in my house on my Granite counters… Place under any cutting board and it will not move when prepping food, carving, etc.

Table looks great, you should be able to enjoy it for many years. I put the same finish on my unfinished oak kitchen table 30 years ago, and it has made it through many dinners, parties, Girl Scout craft days, sewing projects, etc. I mostly use Fantastic or Windex to clean it because that’s what’s handy. For the past two years, we’ve been discussing giving it a few more coats. Maybe next year.
